Saltyard — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

A very cozy, luminous coffee shop. It is run by a local church community, many of whom volunteer there! The soups and pastry (scones,...) and that are freshly baked, and of good quality. The coffee was good. They have vegan and vegetarian options and the prices are in general lower than what I've learnt to expect in Edinburgh. For instance, they have options of soup + scone, soup + bacon roll, etc. at 4£! They also have a small fair trade shop with a lot of cute, hand made things, that come from various initiatives in poor countries. The Saltyard is a Christian based café that opens every morning at 9AM. Breakfast and lunch are served. The cafe is staffed by volunteers . For breakfast, I had granola with fruit and yogurt. Lovely, welcoming cafe with kind (volunteer) staff. It has a community centre vibe, but if that's OK for you, then enjoy the very reasonably priced food, and they are happy to take cash.
