Sea Breeze Cafe — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Going to leave an honest and reluctant review as ordered twice before no problems apart from second time I don't think they even knew I ordered until I rang after previously texting them my order and address. Today though I texted my third ever order (usual method of ordering) then I rang to make sure my order was in I said that I wanted two hot chocolates with marshmallows and cream and my rolls. When I had rang the man who answered handed phone over to a woman who said "hi I'm just ringing you to check your order" I had rang them not other way around. Although this puzzled me I thought nothing of it. Got my order in waited for it to come home and when it arrived I opened the lids off my hot chocolate there was no cream or marshmallows. I rang them to say the delivery was not what I ordered and could I have what I paid for 2 X hot chocolates with marshmallows and cream and take the two they sent away. The guy on the phone asked the woman did she put cream ect on hot choc he then put her on the phone to me and she denied it saying she made them up herself and there was definitely cream ect on them I took pictures and a video clearly showing no cream or hot choc had been put in there even poking about with a spoon (although you can clearly tell anyways if cream ect has been put on hot choc anyways 🤦) they told me they wouldn't deliver anymore as a result of me complaining (what other reason do they have) and never offered to send me more despite me saying I wanted replacements but sent driver back to give me refund and take them away. Don't bother ordering unless you want to be made out to be a liar and have your time wasted. For over £15 for two hot chocs with cream ect and two rolls with bacon eggs and black pudding it's pretty extortionate. Especially with staff who's attitude is that...

The café was almost completely dead when I got there, and I ordered right away. After more than an hour I realized others who had arrived after me were already eating so I tried to get my server's attention (which proved difficult). I'm not sure what happened as it wasn't explained to me, but I'm guessing my order was forgotten or never put through. I received my breakfast without toast, and they said it would come right away. I almost finished my breakfast and I looked back at the kitchen and servers. Sure enough the toast was not on it's way. I received my toast by the time the rest of my food was cold. I love going to the Sea Breeze Cafe for a wee treat (one of their all day breakfasts - usually the Desperate Dan). The food is always great. I tend to take my time and read a bit. I have always been treated kindly and with respect. The decor is dated but always spotless. To be honest, I quite like it. I have been in many similar "greasy spoons" around the country over the years and this one beats them all hands down. It has that classic period vibe but is always clean and never smelly. The kitchen is on full display and is always immaculate. If you fancy a classic British cafe with classic British cafe food then this is it at its best.
