Over salted greasy food.

Last meal with our daughter before she starts nearby University, as you can imagine it was a fairly emotional night. We were seated in the bar and ordered 2 portions of fish and chips and a plain pizza, nothing complicated, or so you would of thought. Service was very slow, looked as though there was only a young lad on duty. Food arrived fairly quickly, the fish was extremely greasy and the batter was soggy and it was so so salty, the chips were almost at the point of being burnt, and the pizza was swimming in grease, daughter could only eat 2 slices of it. The young lad serving was very busy as we couldn’t get his attention, the hotel restaurant manager just ignored us and walked passed several times. On our first night in The Bruntsfield the restaurant part of The Neighbourhood was closed so we had a couple of drinks, the bar staff are very friendly and they serve a decent selection of Scottish Whisky’s, all at very reasonable prices. For the second night of our stay the restaurant section was open so we decided to give it a try… my husband and I shared a large portion of nachos to start… homemade tortillas with lashings of melted cheese, they were some of the best nachos we’ve eaten. For mains we both enjoyed the Irn-Bru fish and chips, which were also delicious! The Irn-Bru in the batter added a subtle sweetness which was very unique! Lovely lunch with the family. Our experience at Bisque Brasserie was wonderful. We had an amazing afternoon for our families pre-Christmas get-together. Our group of 14 were effortlessly accommodated, from a few drinks in the bar before we sat down in the lovely restaurant to have our meal. The whole booking process was easy and efficient, the food was beautiful, and the service delightful. While all the food was beautiful and highly complimented, a special mention to the fish & chips, which got unusually high praise from the fussiest of eaters in our clan.
