Wonderful Edinburgh flat in historical building The apartment is very nice, in a unique location in Edinburgh. It is located in the Well Court building built by Sir John Findlay, the owner of the Scotsman Report, in 1880 to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants. It has a spacious inner courtyard, a bell tower and a meeting room. Next to it is the primary school and in front of it the children’s playground. The atmosphere is that of an old bucolic village. In the house there are all necessary things for a pleasant stay, such as washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryer, kettle, toaster. The kitchen is very well equipped. The view from the windows is spectacular over the river Leith and the courtyard of the building. The bed is very comfortable and quiet. The furniture is very nice and the tv works well. I really enjoyed the decor a la Wes Anderson! The self check-in is explained very well in the instructions and I had no problem. The house is clean and complete with sheets and towels. The bathroom is small but the shower is great. It was very nice to stay in the apartment and made my holiday even more memorable. The house is suitable for those who are looking for a different experience and are not interested in cold and aseptic arrangements, but look for a more cozy, personal and...
Read moreI can not value with 0 stars because the application dont allow it, but the experience has been a total madness. First at all, the aparment in Edinburgh was very nice and clean, very well equipped but the way to get in was a complete nightmare. The email with the instructions about how to get the keys was sent too late, waiting in the front door more than an hour, after calling BOOKING and Guestready several times because the number of the flat was unknown. The address in Edinburgh was wrong too. In one email said 30 Easter Road and other email said 300 Easter Road. The right address is 300 Easter Road, but this address is not in the city centre... Fix this problem: almost 1 hour. After getting the keys, we arrived at the apartment but... It was so cold... The boiler was not working, because ERROR 108 was written on the boiler screen. We called again BOOKING and GUESTREADY but... Music... At least, Booking answered us. We sent a picture of the boiler error and someone will call us to mend the problem. Today, when we left the apartment 3 days later, nobody has contacted with us. What a pity. We fixed the problems by ourself. At least we could "enjoy" the city but... When you are on holidays this is a nasty problem and the owner, lost in...
Read moreThe listing shows a bright, airy space but in reality you need bright lights to replicate the photos shown. Light fixtures are not very bright so the place esp the hallway looks very dark after sundown. The bathroom was clean, but the water from the shower goes everywhere so maybe rethink the partitions. The kitchen was well-equipped. The listing does not state that there are stairs to get to the flat - bit of a trip for us with 3 suitcases to bring up and down. The check in instructions does not clearly specify which flat it is. We had to just try the front door key provided to see if it unlocks the door we chose! Luckily, it did! Bus and tram stops are nearby, but beware of the massive road works in the area if you are walking and have luggage with you. Also, the heater in the living room suddenly starts making a banging sound in the middle of the night. Just be alert or you might receive complaints...
