I happened to be walking by and then I seen “Greek Pastries” so I couldn’t resist and take a little visit. I was immediately drawn to the pastries that they had at the shop window. I had to get something. I was recommended the spinach and feta pastry so I got that. I also fancied something sweet so got the custard bougatsa. I also thought I better get something festive so I got a Melomakarona. The service was pretty good. The lady was particularly smiley and friendly but the man behind not so much, although he was the one that recommended the spinach and feta which was very nice. The pastry to filling ratio was spot on. It was slightly crisp on the top and soft in the middle which I liked. I probably preferred the custard bougatsa as it’s more my type of flavour. This pastry was dusted with icing sugar and cinnamon which they offered to do. Again the pastry itself was perfect. I love it how it was cut into mini squares so it’s easier to eat without making a mess. Both pastries were of substantial size. Finally, the little melomakarona was not bad but not on the same level as the pastries. Overall, I am glad I stopped off here. It’s reasonably priced, there’s places to sit in and there is a good selection of Greek sweet and savoury dishes. There is also pre-made baguettes, rolls and sandwiches in the fridge, as well as pre-packaged snacks and condiments for sale. It also appears they grow their own herbs/veg which is...

I ordered 2 pastries today, but was told the feta cheese one was out and there was only a small piece left of it if I wanted. I agreed, paid for them then found out at home that I was charged 6 pounds for one whole pastry and less than a quarter of the second kind. Normally I wouldn't have an issue but there were no prices visible at all in the shop so I can only assume that I was charged for 2 whole pastries instead of 1 and a quarter. That or pastries here are 5 pounds each, which would be absurd on its own .

Edit: it is indeed my fault for the fact that I didn't pay proper attention at the till, that's on me. Which is why I'm not looking for a refund or anything similar. That being said, not having prices displayed visibly in the window is an annoying sale tactic which I've grown to despise over the years. Not to mention the lack of a visible price list on their Facebook or here, or a site they might have which they...

I’ve been to Think Pastry a number of times, almost always for their whipped feta and tomato toast + a coffee. It’s so simple, but so good - creamy whipped feta with marinated tomatoes (and optional olives, not for me) on a perfect slice of bread, with a side salad. The service is always warm and friendly, the coffee is good and fairly large by my American standards, and I think they’ve spruced up the inside of the café recently and it looks great.

On this last visit I took my partner and he got a traditional greek pie made with filo pastry and minced beef (I believe it’s called the minced beef bougatsa) - I tried a bite and it was fantastic! Full of flavour, warm and flaky. Now I’m torn - the next time I go I might have to stray...

Visited this coffee shop yesterday, the coffee was excellent and the baklava was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The place was quite busy when I went in, there are only about six tables and it was packed but I could understand why after I tasted the stuff. It does look like you can book a table so I would recommend that. Luckily the sun was shining on leith so I just sat outside and had mine. They had a few tables outside. The guy running the place was very nice he came to people in the que to take orders and explain what they had, sweet and savoury. Have a look in the window when you go past, it’s hard walk past when you see the treats. It’s worth visiting, I’ll definitely be back.
