Food took an hour. Opened it, a bag of naans that were ours but the other bag of food was a different address. Phoned up & after nearly 5 minutes of debate they said they'd pick the other bag up as the driver had ours. Driver came back & BEEPED HIS HORN to go to him!!! Handed him the erroneous bag, he grunted "You'll get a fresh one" then drove off! Phoned again. Receptionist was astounded I had no food. Passed me to a very polite man (the only guy I can commend) who explained the other address had opened ours so we'd get a new order. I asked about the naans as these would be cold & he said to bin them which I did 30 minutes later (now 2 hours since ordering), the driver beep his horn! Get upstairs with the food... NO NAANS!!! I phone AGAIN. The receptionist spends 5 minutes trying to understand my issue, says "Hold on a minute" & answers another phone proceeding to take other orders whilst I wait like a beaten kid calling Childline! Passes me on to the rudest, most abrupt person ever. He tells me I had my naans, I say I binned them as I was told to. Tells me to go get them from the bin. I explain I live in flats, goes down a chute. "Ok. Go and get them". By now I'm starting to lose my rag and say im not wading through dirty nappies & other peoples rubbish to find 3 cold breads. Accuses me of eating them!!! So I say 99% of his clients aren't ducks so won't sit there eating bread. After arguing 5 minutes with this clown & getting a headache I tell him to just refund the cost of 3 naans as I'd had the meal so no issue with that. "No refunds. You had them. I'll send them again even though you ate them". Said i hadn't, I'd followed every instruction they'd spoken to the letter to help them rectify THEIR error so I wanted just the 3 naans refunding, not the whole meal as by the time I would have got the naans the meal would be gone and just as a naan isn't a starter, it's not a dessert either. He refused, carried on arguing & alleging I ate them so I hung...
Read moreI've used this place a couple of times before and it wasn't half bad. But this time it was horrible. It took 2 hours for the food to be delivered, after a couple of calls to the shop where we were told the driver was on the way, the chap on the phone made no apologies and hung up abruptly..... It turned out must have been taking the scenic route. The driver did apologise. When the food finally arrived it was luke warm, probably because it was only kept in a thin plastic bag, which was already full of oil, this oil ended up staining our table. Some of the containers were not labelled, when opened they were also swimming in oil, which we drained off. Then I honestly couldn't tell the difference in taste between a Naga and a chicken balti, two dishes that should be totally different that had obviously been chucked together from the same base sauce, put mildly it was totally crap, none of us ate more than half our meal and unfortunately we wont be returning. Still hungry, feeling a bit queasy, and £30 lighter...
Read moreAbsolutely gutted to be writing this review.. Le Raj has been our go to place for takeaway curry for years!!
We ordered tonight at 5:40pm as we know it can normally take an hour to come. We then phoned at 7pm to see where our curry was which they said it was being packed and would be with us in 10/15 mins. At 7:30 still no curry so we rang again.. they said it was coming. It arrived just after 8pm.. 2 hours and 20 minutes after ordering which is RIDICULOUS- especially when we don’t live very far away.
The curry was cold, rice was cold, naan was cold and the popadoms were so stale. One of the curry’s packaging was damaged and the curry had spilled everywhere. So disappointed especially as I was looking forward to this curry this week after having an operation on Monday.
Disappointed and we will be trying somewhere...
