Me and my partner dined in tonight 28/04/22 to supposedly treat ourselves afterwork but had the worst and probably the most embarrassing experience at a resto ever!!! We tried to get the Ramen (family) set though there's only the two of us as we simply liked the deal. It was clearly stipulated underneath the menu that if without a child, a certain item will be excluded. We were alright to compromise just so we can have it however the waitress adamantly insisted that we can't have it as there has to be 3 people in the table to get it. And that the 3rd person doesn't have to be a child to get it. Ridiculous! It was clearly wrong but I chose not to argue as it was late and all I wanted was food in my stomach. Anyway, (fastforward) we've finished our 'nice' meal and was ready to pay the bill, then we figured out they only take cash!!! While my partner was getting cash from the nearby ATM, the other waitress finally came to serve us the glasses of water we've been asking for the last 7 mins. She placed my glass at the edge of the table next to me for which I did not touch just yet as I was replying to my sister's text. The glass slipped off the table and spilled all over my trousers!!! The lady on the other table turned to me and started giggling at the sight of my state. I stood up to check whether somebody could attend but there was no one. Then the other glass started slipping from the MIDDLE of the table towards the edge and fell over. It was a complete MESSS!!! Glass on a glass uneven table - what would you expect? Few seconds later, the two waitresses came in from outside as they were busy clearing up as resto's about to close. I explained to them what happened. Instead of attending to my needs and maybe pacifying my emotions, they looked amused at my situation and even made a joke about GHOSTS! Absolutely pathetic! Yes, they did apologise but it didn't appear too genuine. I demanded for a manager and all they could say was there wasn't any. The manager's left as it was late. How disgraceful!!! The other waitress offered to ring the manager for which I've finally spoken to. I diplomatically explained the situation for which she somehow apologized but didn't sound too reassuring. She confirmed that my assumptiom regarding the ramen set was right and that the waitress was completely wrong. She made no further comment about me being all soaked and wet and freezing cold from that ice cold water. No offer of any form of compensation or what not. She just said she'll have a word with her waitresses.
I used to be a frequent diner and advocate of this restaurant but I have now added this place to my X list. I will continue propagating this story to the rest of my friends especially to one of them who runs a japanese Aikido school, who usually invites loads of his students to try...
Read moreWe arrived on a Saturday evening without a reservation and were quickly seated and ordered drinks. For the starter me and my partner ordered California rolls, Salmon Hosomaki & Karaage to share which we were pleasantly surprised with. But unfortunately this is where the positivity seemed to end.
I had previously asked on here if the chefs were Japanese after having so many bad experiences at so-called Japanese restaurants in this country. After looking at some previous pictures, I saw that they had the menu in Japanese as well as English, this gave me the impression they are serving authentic food and the restaurant was run by Japanese staff. But when we were in the venue the menu was in English and Chinese. This is when alarm bells started to ring.
I was sceptical about what to order for the main course so i asked the waitress what the Ramen was like in here. Her response was "yes its good, its one of our main dishes here". So i thought i would give it a try, i ordered a Tonkotsu ramen & my partner ordered the Miso Tempura Chashu Ramen. To be honest, we were totally confused as to why Tempura would be anywhere near a Ramen dish but decided to try it anyway.
When it arrived, the presentation was fantastic, and i couldn't wait to get stuck in. Now, as any Ramen lover would know, it's all about the BROTH. For those that dont know, Tonkotsu means pork bone and if made properly, is bursting with vibrant flavours. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. It was extremely bland and basically just a shoddy attempt at what should be an amazing dish. The egg wasn't marinated enough either. It had this really wierd peppery taste & and frankly, it was just an insult to Japanese culture to evan call it Ramen. It was better than another local restaurant i had been to the previous week but only slightly.
To finish it off, we ordered a Matcha Tiramissu & Cheesecake for dessert, which were equally as disappointing as the main course. Both tasted like they had been previously frozen with no flavour.
Thank you for your hospitality, but i won't be returning unless i can see some evidence that the food standard...

It must be my 6th and 7th time to order Pork Curry. One time it smelled like a foot, so I threw it away and got a refund through Deliveroo. I believed it must be a one time mistake since I have been ordering from this restaurant for 2years. This time, I realised that the meat was not fully cooked. A guy there explained it must be a joint part, and it’s not a big problem as other parts are cooked. I started to take the bread off from the meat and I realised that one edge is literally pink. I understand his theory that joint might take more time to cook.
The way gatzu is made is this - you get rid of chewy part and some fat, hammer it to soften it(or use a different method), store it fresh, and then cook.
Why does he expect a customer would understand their kitchen issue? They were literally ignoring how dangerous it is to keep meat without a sophistcated supervision in the kitchen. He never apologised for this problem.
He offered me a new gatzu but I already finished half at that point. I refused it and digged it to find out a small fully cooked part not to waste food. He then said he would give me a discount. And surprise?A waitress brought a receipt with “10% discount” for”eating raw pork without realising”. In my country, I do eat some parts of beef and fish raw. Pork, NEVER!Pork is very very dangerous to be eaten raw. If you don’t want to challenge your life, don’t go to this restaurant or check every single piece of meat you have at a table. I’m sad to lose one of my favourite restaurants, but I’d like to keep...
