Cafe Giardino — Restaurant in Crawley

My recent visit left much to be desired. I stopped by for a quick coffee but the lack of customer service, or lack of noticing customers was very poor. There were three staff members diligently working away and unfortunately, I found myself standing at the counter unnoticed for a good 3 to 4 minutes. While I understand that they may be occupied with tasks, a simple acknowledgment would have made a significant difference. I appreciate the importance of staff being focused on their work, but customer service includes recognising the presence of paying customers. I decided to wait a little longer and see if they would acknowledge me, but unfortunately, that never happened. I did feel like a bit of a lemon in the end. Don't bother. Very very over priced for what it is. Asked for a tuna melt panini priced at £8.45. Got to the till and added a pre packaged brownie slice (same size you get with a meal deal) and an iced tea both. The bill come to £16.35 which i questioned and they told me the brownie and iced tea are £3.95 each! I asked for both items to be removed off the bill as I thought it was overpriced. Same cost as the panini! The staff then stood there gossiping about how I was complaining about the price in front of me while I was eating. Zero customer service once I'd asked for those items to be removed, no napkins given, no smile, i was just bitched about instead. Won't be returning. There is a real struggle to justify £26.15 spent here. The tuna melt was barely filled and just had an overriding taste of canned tuna brine. Bread was soft and panini was warm but really, that is the bare minimum to expect!

The chicken milanese panini was ok, very thin bit of chicken and some weird stodgy bits with tiny bits of bacon. Cheese melted was just greasy, solidified and flavourless. Chips were ok for frozen chips. Best tasting item was...
