Nando's Doncaster — Restaurant in Doncaster

This is by far my favourite place to eat!

If you love chicken and haven't tried Nando's yet, then my advice is to look no further than this place.

The food is very tasty and high quality, with lot's of choice to choose from including mains, starters and desserts. There are also great customization options too, from spice level and marinade flavour to choice of sides. For drinks, you can choose between a range of bottomless soft drinks, but alcoholic choices are available too. Here, there is choice for everyone.

Restaurant is very inviting, has a very positive atmosphere and is overall very clean. It is very spacious, well laid out and bright. All of their staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful. Service is quite fast, unlike some of the other places to eat nearby. Toilets are also spotlessly clean and well maintained too. Oh, and one of my favourite features of all is the inclusion of a sink in the restaurant! Very handy and great for hygiene. Something I think other dine-in places should take note of and follow suit with as I really like that implementation.

Pricing is pretty decent for a place like this. A little more expensive than the nearby fast food venues, but definitely cheaper than the more upmarket restaurants in the vicinity. So I'd say it's very good value overall.

Minor nitpicks are when busy, there can be a bit of wait (so definitely show up with plenty of time to spare), some are worn benches and occasional light flickering, but that is honestly to expect. QR codes on the table can be used to order, however you can go up and order at the counter if you like doing things the old way. Lack of paper menus is not a complaint at all, as I personally find that to be a great environmental benefit.

Only around the corner for us so decided to eat here as we have done on a few occasions before.

Had the grilled chicken burger which was okay. Certainly nothing special and pretty tasteless, to be honest. Peri chips were decent when accommodated with one of the flavourful hot sauces.

Had garlic bread as a side and honest to God, I thought they'd cooked it with a flamethrower for a solid couple of hours. Came out burnt all over. I have marked the review down mainly for this as it was unacceptable to be honest and the kitchen and wait staff should not have sent it out (thus poor service, in my opinion) if for nothing else, the embarrassment of doing so. To me it clearly suggests they care little for the meal quality for their customers. When you go to Nandos you don't go to expect fine dining but a little care and quality control would not go amiss rather than "ah, it will be fine...".

Additionally, a lot of the cutlery were not properly cleaned as evident but easily visible water marks all over the knives and folks. It might seem like nitpicking but again just shows how lackadaisical this restaurant seems.

Further, no staff come to check how our meals were which is generally standard practice. Hell we even got this in Wetherspoons of all places!

In a time where customers are choosing more carefully where to eat due to the pressure of the cost of living and thus where to spend their money, they should strive to deliver the basics. It's probably an overreaction from me, but...

Told to go elsewhere and get a drink as we'd be waiting 40 minutes; Before being served the drink next door, got txt, saying table was ready and they'd only hold it for 10 mins, so had to have a few sips and run back. Not the end of the world but a bit annoying. When we were seated, we had no menus, we had to shout, and shout, and shout again to get someone's attention to get a menu. Person who took our order was rude, snappy and offered no apology for items unavailable. "There's no peri peri salt!" When seated, I had to shout "EXCUSE ME" 3 times to gain a waitresses attention to ask for salt as there was none on the table. I didn't get any pineapple in my wrap, despite ordering and paying for it, but couldnt get anyones attention to report it, and I was sick of shouting. The broccoli was over cooked and they had no mayonnaise. The wrap and chips were nice (even without the expected pineapple) but the service and availability of extras/condiments is very poor!!!! The staff looked like they'd rather be anywhere but in there!
