An utterly shocking experience of arrogant waiters, poor food and 2 1/2 hours of sitting there waiting for a starter and main course.
We had a table of four. One of our party ordered a vegetarian starter. We she cut into it the bottom of the vegetable cake it was actually frozen. Upon telling one of the waiters to take it back and bring a hot one out another waiter came out and said it was supposed to be served that way. Hot at the top frozen at the bottom. Iâve never heard of that before but okay. Iâm not aware of any vegetable that is eaten frozen!
Time for main courses which took 1 hour 45 minutes to arrive from point of ordering. 2 of our party ordered pasta. Never in my life have I experienced pasta with so much black pepper on it. I like black pepper too, but eating the pasta was unbearable. This wasnât just one dish it was both pasta dishes. In addition to this the pasta was inedible and raw. Al dente is one thing but it was genuinely like eating chewing gum. I personally raised this to one of the waiters who actually argued with me at the table that the pasta was homemade and should be served that way. I asked him to eat it himself and tell us it was appropriate yet he just continued to argue. The arrogance of this said waiter was unbelievable was utterly incredulous. He was disgracefully rude and asked me if I was Italian and when I said no, he said well how do I know what the pasta should be like. Wow!
I will not venture back here again. I can deal with overly sensitive individuals that cannot seemingly take constructive feedback but I cannot deal with going to a restaurant and anyone leaving hungry because the food was inedible.
Judging by the reviews there is clearly a staffing issue as the sheer volume of comments relating to rude staff needs to be addressed....
Read moreWe were looking for somewhere the family could celebrate our wedding anniversary, as we had previously had to cancel the celebration of my wifeâs birthday the week before.
This restaurant is close to where we live and was accessible by public transport, and without booking in advance.
Great first impression, and welcome shown to a table, on the upper floor, and given menus, we advised of the gluten and soya allergies, and were told no issue, all the pasta meals, can be made gluten free, great start.
Ordered starters and these arrived, unfortunately the gluten free starter had gluten in the dish, and had to be replaced. The food was tasty and well presented however.
Mains were uneventful
On to the deserts, where once again the gluten free option was presented with a gluten based accompaniment. We pointed it out and again it was immediately replaced, apparently the chef had changed since the start of the meal and was not aware of the allergies!
The food was good overall, service acceptable, but the two slips on allergies is extremely disappointing, and could have been serious.
Not sure we would give the restaurant another opportunity even though we are keen to support...
