We called and made a reservation for Sunday Roast. Car Parking: Ample parking Accessibility: Wheelchair friendly and step free. WC’s are located on the same floor as entrance and bar. Outdoor space: Yes Table Service: Yes, order at the bar or use the table QR code. Our small group ordered using the App. Super easy and convenient to use. Everyone took care of their own bill 💸 . Staff: Lots of staff, attentive, polite and smiling. 10 out of 10. Kids: Kid friendly venue with high chairs available. Food: We all ordered off the Sunday Roast menu and we weren’t disappointed. Our booking was for 3pm. Our food arrived in good time as did our drinks. Everyone’s dishes were juicy and flavoursome. Yummy gravy and veggies. Veggies were perfectly cooked as were the meat elements. Topped with a massive Yorkshire pudding. 10 out of 10. We travelled from London by train, disembarking at Ware station to meet our mates. So it’s a short walk from the station. They said, they’ve never had a bad roast there. So we had high expectations. Venue: Clean and tidy. A golfing facility is behind the pub. Coffee: They make a decent flat white. The coffee was well made, milk was at a perfect temperature and the coffee flavour was robust. Very enjoyable. WC’s: Down a set of stairs. They were well decorated, lit, clean, tidy and were NOT smelly. Ample soap in the dispensers. One bit of improvement for mgt: Suggest staff remove their service aprons before using the WC’s. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Sunday lunch with the kids. Service is attentive and helpful, they were quick and substituted things on request. They also have a good selection of non alcoholic beers, wine and mocktails. The roast beef lunch was ok. Beef - excellent, nice and rare in the middle. The Yorkshire was big but overcooked and very dry. The potatoes tasted good but didn't have the crisp and crunchy casing you'd want. The horseradish sauce had too much mayonnaise and not enough punch. Disappointing that the desert appeared a long time after the coffee, even though the menu explicitly has the "coffee and mini desert" option! Sigh. When it did arrive, the creme brulee was perfectly fine, and the ice cream tasty. There's some provision for children here, with a menu and some colouring, but no children's cutlery and the child size ice cream is the same size as the adult!

It was our second time here for food, this time it was a roast, a Easter Sunday roast. In all honesty it was like having a school dinner roast, it was TERRIBLE. The stuffing (which cost extra for 2 balls was clearly that cheap frozen stuffing, the gravy was completely tasteless, and the roaster parsnips looked like they had been boiled. I honestly do not understand how you can mess up a roast THAT badly. I will never be returning again. This place is disgusting. Please have a look at my photos and tell me that the parsnips aren’t boiled. The pigs in blankets was like £3 for 2 Small sausages. Completely let down by this place. Also the cauliflower cheese was just cauliflower covered in grated cheese.

Shocking! Sorry to say but this place is better avoided. Our meal turned up with raw leek and pak choi that genuinely appeared to have been almost cremated. It literally crumbled into flakes like an autumn leaf when you touched it. The other veg was just limp as had been boiled to death. Manager laughed when we pointed out the state of the veg and I had to agree it was laughable. Portion size was also way smaller than standard pub grub and not reflected in price. Got a full refund and left. Total abuse of our precious time. Avoid at all costs!
