Went here tonight and the food was not great we have been before it was really good homemade food but tonight's food was horrible, it was definitely not homemade, ordered steak but was told could not have any as they need the steak for the pies, the steak and ale pie was swimming in watery juice, the steak was chewy, the chips were oven chips not homemade, my other half had chicken curry that was not great it was loads of rice and not much chicken and the naan bread was crispy and could not be eaten was given a plain naan bread which is not what he ordered, he order a garlic naan bread and my friend also had steak and ale pie and hers was the same as mine swimming in a watery juice not a thick gravy, the gravy it came with was lumpy and looked like it was made the night before and just warm up. The one staff member that was on was not very with it, could not understand what we were asking her when sorting the bill out, she could not use the till very well due to her false long nails were very long and she was also handling the food which is not very hygienic. Would not recommend or return which is so disappointing as are previous visit was...
Read moreStaying locally at the Ash barn farms cottages the 14 of us needed somewhere close by to have dinner. One of our group had researched places to eat close by. We took the gamble and headed to My Father's Moustache. Through the door and straight to the well stocked bar for a drink we were greeted by the lovely landlady. Drinks in hand we were led to our table. The food on the menu was good and honest with no silly gimmicks. The waiter and waitress did a superb job of helping us chose our meals. I chose the Lincolnshire sausages and onion gravy served with vegetables and mash others in the group chose haddock and chips, beef stroganoff, gammon and tender beef strips in a pepper sauce. Everything arrived at the table quickly was piping hot and tasted very good. The portions were generous and very good value. The haddock was so big that I got to eat the half my mum couldn't finish, it was juicy, boneless and tasted lovely. Four of the group opted for Dessert, various combinations of the cheese cake were chosen and tasted wonderful. Our gamble paid off and we were all very glad...
Read moreDisgusting! we went for my baby brothers funeral expected to be put in the function room but had double booked so we had to stay in the main pub. The staff were very rude! bare in mind it was a childs funeral the staff still told them off for running around. Yet some of the food was nice EG: cupcakes and chicken wings, They served; Salmon, Olives, Chutney, Spicy cheeses and shrimp there was over 30 of us and not enough food and there was a large handful of people who couldnt eat because of the lack of effort. We all had to leave early due to being made uncomfortable by the staff! I definatly would not recommend and on another note they have one customer who joked about knocking my younger sister out he is a bald man with alot of tattoos who is there very often just this place and the staff made the night more miserable than it was...
