I ordered a takeaway on Friday 8th April, comprising of starters Chicken Tikka (£3.95), Lamb Tikka (£4.50), mains of Tandoori Fish Thali (£13.50), Chicken Dansak (£6.95), Lamb Rogan Josh (£7.95), Pilau Rice (£3.20), Garlic Nan and a Plain Nan (£2.40) all quite reasonable I think considering I was then given a discount of £11.97 for ordering direct and not through some of the alternative "convenience websites". So let me ring through the good and then the bad.
The Bad (on this specific occasion) The food was estimated to take between 40 -and 60 minutes, but it took 110 minutes. Upon serving, I noticed we were one dish missing..., and this is where the "fun" begins. I called Manzil gold within 5 minutes of the delivery, realising the mistake. I also acknowledged the missing dish was the Tandoori Fish Thali, so I called Manzil Gold about the error. I was complaining, but my aggression was as much as pointing out the mistake and asking for a refund. It's worth pointing out that the first person I spoke to (a young lady) took the details, including the time of order, order number, the delivery address and the origin of the purchase. But promptly handed me over to another member of staff. The second staff member asked for the very same information but questioned twice whether I ordered direct from them (I did), as it became clear that Deliveroo or Just Eats (options, BTW) would have been blamed for the mistake. I reiterated that I ordered direct, by which I was promptly told the error was mine. Having pointed out the missing dish, I was told on three occasions that I needed to make sure I was tasting fish and not something else. Insinuating this was starting to annoy me somewhat as 1. I know what fish tastes like, 2. I know the texture of fish (especially compared to chicken, lamb and rice) 3. all the packages had initials on them, for example, "RJ" - Rojan Josh The customer services rep proceeded to tell me he checked with the chefs that the packages were right... I was not sure when he checked since he never left the phone and never asked anyone else. Having acknowledged (to some extent) that perhaps the restaurant may have made a mistake (we all make them!), they would speak to the delivery driver; why? Did he eat this one specific dish whilst on delivery? I doubt it. Did he give it to someone else? I doubt it since the bags are packed accordingly, and I got everything apart from one dish instead of an entirely different order. Just face facts, you missed one dish. Then I was told another dish would be cooked and sent out to me. How about No! How about asking me what I would like to resolve the matter? I insisted I would not wait another hour for the correct dish to be sent, as my family was already eating. I was then advised the correct dish would be sent the following day??? Why would I want a single fish curry dish sent to me the next day? I like to curry a lot, but this offer is a little inconvenient and, let's put it bluntly, insincere. I insisted that a refund was in order, for the grand total of £13.50. I was promptly told that a manager would be required to make the refund, but there was no one available. Having enquired when the Manager was available, I was informed they would call me back on Saturday. No one called, so I called back only to be told the Manager does not work Saturdays. I am usually a patient person, so I decided to call back today (Sunday 10th April), only to get through to a diverted number that the person picked up and said, "Sorry, this number has been diverted," and promptly put the phone down on me.
Well, what can I say? Put it this way, this is only the second time I used this restaurant and the first time, they got the order wrong (a missing naan, but I ignored it that time). Mistakes happen! The customer is not always right, but seriously, if I wanted to scam the restaurant, I wouldn't do it over a single fish dish costing £13.50. Accept the mistake, apologise and rectify accordingly, do not try to blame me, a third party delivery company that was not involved or the poor...
Read moreFood: The food is amazing, like ridiculously good, even the simplest dishes are cooked to perfection. The delivery food lacks no quality standard compared to the in restaurant food. They all have the Indian style and the dishes can be slightly altered to your tastes (more spicy or no onions ect.) They serve starters, mains and desserts so the meals are very filling and even with large parties, the food is flawless, from start to begining, most customers are more than satisfied and come more than once after their first trip .
Interior design: The resurant has a very nice layout with 20+ tables, it looks very high-end with eloquently folded napkins and silver on the tables in correct placement. The bar is traditional, yet still matching the rest of the resurant, from the plants to the water ornaments, the atmosphere is always perfect for romantic dates, parties for birthdays or casual business meetings. If the food was still amazing in its quality and the resurant experience was poor, people would still come for the food alone however with multiple forms of ordering, each is an easy and appeasing experience.
Ordering: Ordering is quick and easy. They are connected to apps like Just Eat and Hungry House. They even have there own app with discounts on them. Alternatively you can walk into the store and place an order to take away or you can order on the telephone for delivery or just come in and sit down.
Customer service: The waiters are polite, well mannered and quick. With the boss being there, he is there to help you and along with the waiting staff, you can tell they care about your...
