Shahi Village — Restaurant in East Staffordshire

Had to check Google for an Indian restaurant as we were staying a few minutes away, this came up with top reviews. Nearby car park, but the machine wasnt working, and unlike in London you can pay by card or use an app, unfortunately this was cash only and no apps to pay online. So we had to find off road parking another few minutes away. Inside has decent decor, much like most Indian restaurants. Was warmly greated, service was on point with dishes recommended. Was a bit quite for a Saturday night. We got a chicken Karahi, and a meat Dum ghost. Both were excellent, great flavours and quality. They do not serve any alcohol which is a plus, but it is BYO. Price was decent, owner is the chef and the son works at front, you can see the chef has experience and loves what he does, as it shows in the food. Would recommend if your after a good Indian food, will not disappoint. Also...

10/10 Indian restaurant and I'm quite picky about them. Really good authentic food that isn't just greasy takeaway Indian. One member of our party couldn't decide anything from the menu so the chef made something special off menu and it was delicious. Amazing customer service too, the chef came to speak to us after the meal and we thanked him for making something off menu, to which he replied "of course, we always try to specialise to guests tastes" so definitely try asking the chef for a recommendation if you have specific tastes.

Will definitely be going again and recommending to family and friends. Really helps that it's BYOB as well, makes the night...

This place is amazing 👏 definitely 1 of the best curries I've had in a long time. The staff and management were excellent while handling my order I had clearly told them how hot I wanted my curry and they did not disappoint. Oli was great, made me feel like my custom was appreciated. If you love curry then you need to try this establishment. 10/10 from me keep up the good work. Will definitely be coming...
