Visited from out the area whilst on a work trip 8/9/25 Googled for a traditional pub in burton and this place came up. Warm and welcoming atmosphere made everyone feel right at home. The lady who served us was incredibly attentive, ensuring that we received wonderful service. The pub's charm, coupled with its friendly staff, created an inviting environment.

I was looking for a pub open on a Monday afternoon as I had builders in and needed some peace and quiet for me and my dog. We went everywhere to find somewhere open. Finally ended up here. 11 of us went in on Saturday afternoon and it was very busy. When the Bass barrel was changed the lady behind the bar would not serve until it was in tip top condition even though there was about 5 people waiting. A lot of people would just fill the glasses and sell it but she wouldn't pass it over the bar until it was perfect. And it was perfect. A member of our group said it was the best pint of beer he had EVER drank....
