I came this evening Saturday the 22nd around 8ish pm to get a couple of hot chocolates and a cake. The hot chocolate had very unpleasant taste. Now, what is a rocket science to make a hot chocolate. I do not know what sort of chocolate they are buying, but that was truly awful. I ended up throwing it in the bin and decided to come back and complain. So I have complained and young men asked me, so what do you want? A refund? Well, yes! So the good thing is he has give me £9 back!!! The bag thing the chap had a heck of an attitude and poor manners. Well, if you cannot provide a simple drink, then be prepared to deal with the complaints with disrespectful manners. Otherwise, I suggested customer service training, because that sort of attitude says a lot about the whole business. The owner should invest into proper training of how to deal with customers. Chocolate for him and Jaffa cake for me. Oh my goodness, they were huge! - which meant I had to 'help' little one eat his otherwise he would've gone bonkers. I'm not complaining, please don't make the portion smaller, it's just one of those parental sacrifices you have to make. Anyway, I enjoyed my Jaffa cake with a hint of orange but if rich, indulgent chocolate is what you're after, I think I probably preferred his. The service was friendly and attentive, and the shop has a charming, vintage, olde sweet shop feel about it. I say, go on, treat yourself, but you had better lick it quick...

Found a table easily (it was reasonably quiet), so having looked at the menu I popped over to the counter where one customer was being served. Some difficulty with his payment, during which time one member of staff left and a few minutes later another appeared, just as some regular customers arrived. She did some work behind the counter, then looked at the regulars and asked them if they wanted their usual chocolate drinks, ignoring me. The customer who'd had dificlutly paying was still talking to the other person behind the counter. We walked, and won't be back. 1 star is the minimum, deserves none in my opinion...
