Stunning church, especially the rood screen and the amazing angels and roof. Really impressive nomatter how many times you see it, stunning at Christmas. Gorgeous overgrown churchyard, and the gift shop is amazingly good value esp by Southwold standards! Lovely man helped me get water for my grandma's grave flowers. Exterior decoration is just wonderful especially if you haven't seen suffolk flint built churches before. Gorgeous windows, and of course Southwold Jack!

A lovely large church with plenty of history and design, situated in the nice area of Southwold. The doors are often open and you can have a wonder round (and there is the option to leave a donation to!) We spent some time with the kids looking at the pictures in the stain glass windows and spotting different statues and heads within the design.

The parish church of Southwold is dedicated to St Edmund, and is considered to be one of Suffolk's finest.[2] It lies under one continuous roof, and was built over about 60 years from the 1430s to the 1490s; it replaced a smaller 13th-century church that was destroyed by fire. The earlier church dated from the time when Southwold was a small fishing hamlet adjacent to the larger Reydon. By the 15th century Southwold was an important town in its own right, and the church was rebuilt to match its...

We visited today for the 1st time ,with a possible view of joining the church as weve just moved into the area. We were only spoken to see if we had a hymn book. Otherwise no one welcomed us or asked us if we were visiting or would like to stay for a drink. The preist gave a lovley sermon on prayer . A gentleman prayed for needs of the community, which was beautiful. Just need a bit more reaching out to your guests . Sadly we...
