I don't usually write reviews but feel compelled to after Saturday's visit. Unfortunately we're really disappointed with the new menu. We've been coming to the cafe for years as we were always guaranteed a great lunch. New menu is lazy and overpriced. The little 'extras' of a scattering of crisps and a small light salad made a difference with sandwiches. Now the paninis come by themselves for £7.95. Brie and mushroom was simply that - almost inedible. I looked for a place to review or speak with Adnams directly on their website but there wasn't one. We won't be coming back. Avoid.

September 2025 Really impressed that Adnams have listened to feedback from many and made significant changes to the menu again. We visited again last week and the menu has reverted to how it had been in the past AND improved. We will come again-...

As their home town flagship store this misses so many points! The store is beautifully set up and laid out, albeit some products are replicated in various areas in the store. The store allows dogs which is brilliant (after all, all products are covered and sealed and the floor is wooden). That's almost where the positives end. Their pricing is out of this world expensive. Buying elsewhere is cheaper (this isn't right, as supporting their home town and buying in their flagship store should be the best value option!). Many items aren't even priced so if you can find a store assistant to ask, you'll need to track the price down. Some items can only be bought in multipacks which is a shame. Didn't get chance to try the cafe as it wasn't clear if they...

Decided to pop in for a bite after buying a couple of bits on the shop. The food looked good but it really wasn't as good as it should have been. The jacket potato wasn't fully cooked and there was no butter. The rarebit came on a really thick bit of bread which was not toasted, the rarebit was anemic. The salad it came with had dressing poured on it, would have been better to have it served separately as not everyone likes it. The rarebit also came with a bag of posh crisps that were not necessary and i would rather have had the option of something else or a lower cost. The rarebit would have been better on thinner bread that was crisp from toasting and then put under a grill rather than looking like it was microwaved. All edible but...

First impressions of customer service in the cafe were incredibly poor. Left at the door to be seated by 3 different staff members all who said we'd be seated shortly, and then went behind the counter for a chat. After finally being told where to sit we were quickly made redundant mid conversion when a regular walked through the door. No more questions could be asked. When at the counter we were left standing for 5 minutes by the staff member behind the counter because we were at the wrong end. When they finally pointed us to the place to order, they walked away rather than serving us. The scone and hot chocolate were decent though. Shop also had a good selection.

It's Southwold, everyone knows Southwold is beautiful, whenever I visit there has to be a visit to Adnams store and café, coffee and cake to start off a visit is becoming a tradition, invariably I'm here with my sister or a friend, the cafe does a selection of food, must admit we only stop for coffee and cake but what I've seen the food looks jolly decent and smells delicious, staff are very polite and friendly, if you visit Southwold I can recommend here, store is also well worth a visit. Lovely 🤗

This is a lovely little cafe with a good selection of cakes and scones. We had scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam and a couple of pots of tea. Delicious! There is also outside seating and small parking area. The brewery shop has a fantastic selection of wines and spirits and of course, the full range of the famous Adnams beers. A nice range of gifts is also available. Well worth a visit if you're visiting Southwold.
