I don't usually write reviews but feel compelled to after Saturday's visit. Unfortunately we're really disappointed with the new menu. We've been coming to the cafe for years as we were always guaranteed a great lunch. New menu is lazy and overpriced. The little 'extras' of a scattering of crisps and a small light salad made a difference with sandwiches. Now the paninis come by themselves for £7.95. Brie and mushroom was simply that - almost inedible. I looked for a place to review or speak with Adnams directly on their website but there wasn't one. We won't be coming back. Avoid.
September 2025 Really impressed that Adnams have listened to feedback from many and made significant changes to the menu again. We visited again last week and the menu has reverted to how it had been in the past AND improved. We will come again-...
Read moreAs their home town flagship store this misses so many points! The store is beautifully set up and laid out, albeit some products are replicated in various areas in the store. The store allows dogs which is brilliant (after all, all products are covered and sealed and the floor is wooden). That's almost where the positives end. Their pricing is out of this world expensive. Buying elsewhere is cheaper (this isn't right, as supporting their home town and buying in their flagship store should be the best value option!). Many items aren't even priced so if you can find a store assistant to ask, you'll need to track the price down. Some items can only be bought in multipacks which is a shame. Didn't get chance to try the cafe as it wasn't clear if they...

The jacket potato wasn't fully cooked and there was no butter. The rarebit came on a really thick bit of bread which was not toasted, the rarebit was anemic. The salad it came with had dressing poured on it, would have been better to have it served separately as not everyone likes it. The rarebit also came with a bag of posh crisps that were not necessary and i would rather have had the option of something else or a lower cost. The rarebit would have been better on thinner bread that was crisp from toasting and then put under a grill rather than looking like it was microwaved. All edible but...
