The Chippy — Restaurant in East Suffolk

We visited The Chippy resturant on Saturday 14th September in the evening for a family meal. It was our first time visiting Lowestoft and this place was recommended to us by a young lad in the pier arcade. We got parked right outside and was greeted with a warm welcome. The young lad who served us was polite and friendly. The whole place is spotlessly clean and has plenty of ornaments / pictures on the wall to look at. Our order was taken quickly and food came out without much of a wait. It was DELICIOUS! The kids are not overly keen on chips, but seemed to had eaten all of them before their meat! Which is rare! They were so nice. We had a mixture of, battered sausage, chicken nuggets and a cheese burger. It was all so nice. The kids meal comes with ice cream, 2 scoops of choice and choice of sauce. Needless to say they enjoyed this. We will definitely be returning again. The whole bill, including the drinks came to under £10 a head! For a family of 4, 2 adults 2 kids this is a very affordable dinner. We live 2 hours away and we are already thinking...

Visited for the first time last night, decided to eat in. The restaurant is lovley and clean,spacious and lovley decor. We both ordered the cod and chips, with a side order. Arrived and looked nice and fresh, the cod was very tasty, the chips nice and golden. Both accompanied by mushy peas. Really nice , well portioned meal.

Unfortunately meal let down by the waitress, who shoved a tray on the table, to remove my partners empty plate, I was still eating my meal. I felt rushed into eating the remainder of my meal, in fact I didn't finish it. Would have been nice if she had waited until we had both...

The chips are cooked in beef dripping and are the most tasty chips that I have had for years. We sat by the sea and dipped our chips into glorious steak pies whilst watching the boats return to the harbour. It doesn’t get much better than that! Will be returning to try the ‘proper’ sausages from a local butcher.
