Beach Cafe — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Feeling peckish on our way through Lowestoft, we decided to stop for a bite at Beach Cafe. Inside, the decor was wonderfully varied, with boats, old gramophones, and a myriad other bits of bric-a-brac. We seated ourselves at a table for two and waited for it to all take off.....

Based on the reviews, I thought we'd be well-looked after in this little cafe. I don't know....maybe we caught it at a bad time, but it really didn't live up to the billing the previous reviews provided.

The staff were lovely, and the service reasonable but, honestly, the food was a bit ordinary. I had a cheese and ham omelette and wifey a jacket spud with tuna mayo. The potato was starchy and overdone. The omelette gets credit for not being cooked to death, but.....well, you can look at the photos and judge for yourself.....I mean, perhaps a bit of a salad...

If you’re looking for the best English breakfast in Lowestoft, The Beach Café is the place to go! Their Full English is absolutely perfect—freshly cooked, generous portions, and full of flavor. The sausages are top quality, the bacon is crispy, and the eggs are always cooked just right.

Beyond breakfast, they offer a fantastic variety of food, from light bites to hearty lunches. Their homemade cakes and fresh coffee are also worth mentioning—perfect for a seaside treat!

The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the service is always efficient, even during busy times. With a lovely seafront view, it’s the ideal spot to relax and enjoy great food.

The best full English breakfast we’ve had in Lowestoft! Quality ingredients to include free-range eggs, thick-sliced smoked bacon, local sausages, mushrooms, baked beans, tomatoes, hash browns and toast … and a cup of tea or coffee - all for £6.95. A lovely, friendly and attentive gentleman cooked and served our food and then came back to check that all was OK. It certainly was! We will most definitely be returning...
