wow the response to this post is very telling. wishing you peace and karma too what goes around comes around indeed. The decoration was beautiful I love flowers so I fell in love once I got inside, the staff at entrance was fairly decent offered me a drink whilst waiting for the pot throwing class & Tile Making Taster Class on the 20/7/23.
Once the class started there was a girl giving me a death stare and picking on me with her family I tried to ignore because I don’t interact with insecure sad bullies. It was hard to ignore as other people joined in their subtle acts of micro aggression including the lady leading the class. Especially the lady leading the class she took it too far….( I don’t know if there are more than one teacher so the one I’m talking about I don’t know her name but she has short wavy curls pointy nose and fairly tall)
The lady leading the class throughout the session she was giving me this death stare again I ignored because I was really looking forward to the class as it was my first time pot throwing. Upon reflection I should have walked out and asked for refund when she was passing the clay and got to me and literally threw my clay aggressively on the table and when I was making the clay with her she told me to put my hand at the bottom of the spinner thing whilst it was still spinning and press hard. It was my first time so I did as she instructed ( I was already nervous and felt uncomfortable by the girl and her family picking on me). Anyway I pressed down and I felt a pressure it was a little painful so I said ouch and the lady was laughing and smirking whilst looking at the same family for approval or something like that. After that I kinda stopped listening to her directly if she asked me to do something I would take a sec to think about before continuing. I don’t know why I didn’t just get up and leave or even record it I just froze. Well we live and we learn next time if it happens I am packing and my bags and asking for a refund and go to other vendor …….
By stander effect is crazy the way people allow hate and bullying to spread and would actively join in for what to be part of a group. Although there was a young girl and her family they were kinda nice in terms of they noticed what was going on and didn’t join in unlike the rest.
I don’t really feel comfortable going back if they can hire someone so wicked and malicious……. I didn’t try the food so I’m giving it a 5star I’m sure it’s great the drink was good. Atmosphere a 4 because the decorations was lovely, atmosphere in terms of what I went through that would be a 0.
I was debating whether to write a review or not and I decided to because it’s not okay to treat people like that, a paying customer ( paying or not it’s just not okay). I still think about it every now and I guess this review is my way...
Read moreWhile the painting was fun, we hadn't been before and were visiting Eastbourne and thought it would be fun thing to do. We weren't expecting it to be as expensive to pick items to paint but we selected our items (I think you would benefit from a price list on the wall or something, as we had to keep going up to the counter to ask prices) went to our table to paint. The colour select isn't huge, would love some metallics or glittery ones. The lighting about the table wasn't great, we were in the corner. We ordered some drinks and the staff were friendly. After we had painted our items we ordered waffles. A great menu, and were pretty excited. They took ages to come and came out in 4 stages, there were only 4 of us. Mine came out last and were uncooked. The waitress confirmed we wouldn't be charged for the food as we had waited so long. That's fine, but they were all uncooked, as the machine had broken. We actually wanted food. Would have rather they had offered other food or taken the drinks off the order and we only paid for the painting. The cakes looked great and so did the salads so we would have been happy to have those had we been told the waffles were off the menu. I feel like the cafe/art section needs a good tidy up and more space. Prams were in front of most the items. It's a lovely idea, but on this occasion it didn't work out...
Read moreI really love the idea of having a mellow place to hang out have a meal or a cup of coffee and do some pottery painting. Love the vegetarian food, the coffee great, staff is awesome It really was fun, but as an person who's painted pottery in many different venues over the years, I find their raw ware very expensive. It was £12 for a 2 1/2 inch tall ornament, £2 for firing fee. I have never paid moree than £5 for a similar item and I feel £7 would have been much more appropriate, including firing fee. This could be such a wonderful family activity but there is no way that you could afford to bring your children. Three people, three lunches and a coffee would put you in the £60-75 range. This is not London, tho I've painted there as well for much less. I would probably come in every week and do a little something if it were cheaper. In these lean times, a little inexpensive joyful activity...
