Élan — Restaurant in England

I can see why this is the best rated restaurant in Seahouses. It might not be the poshest of restaurants, but for a small seaside town, it's a perfectly lovely down to earth place that serves pizzas far better than you'd expect and with great friendly staff. We arrived in town and hadn't decided where to eat, turns out the choices were fish and chips, places with overly fancy foods that didn't appeal or Elan, a pizzeria with a great range of options so there would be something for anyone who liked pizza. So we asked if they could fit us in as we hadn't booked and we were in luck, if we finished before 19:30, which was plenty of time. Still, we skipped starters and went for the main course as we wanted dessert as well. I had a meat feast, and my wife had that one with the egg on it. Have to say the meat feast was spicier than expected but not too much, about at the right spot for a hot meal. My wife enjoyed her pizza so much that she didn't have space for dessert, so I thought I'd be good and skip it too. My partner and I enjoyed four nights in Seahouses and on our last night stumbled across Elan Pizzeria. We were very pleasantly surprised. Despite not having a particularly large menu, what they did have was excellent and they had a specials board on the evening that we went. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and willing to help and, because they are not buying thousands of different ingredients a week, they can afford to keep prices down. They also operate a bring your own policy which, when you have a partner who drinks wine in quantities like mine does, helps to keep down the cost considerably! Absolutely amazing service, the pizzas were fantastic. As a family of four. we sometimes struggle finding places that satisfy us all we but we came out of this pizzeria so happy to have met such lovely staff and eaten such delicious food. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone near the area or visiting- it was a highlight to our holiday. The staff were just amazing and it was really nice to be able to have a chat with them.
