Disappointing Service & Poor Management
Atmosphere: The pub offered a nice, relaxed vibe and the server greeted us warmly.
Service & Timing Issues: Unfortunately, the positive start quickly unraveled. We waited over an hour for our meals, despite being a group of ten and with the pub almost empty. We reminded the server twice that we had a boat trip scheduled 1.5āÆhours after ordering, yet nothing changed. There were no time updates or apologies, which left us feeling ignored
Manager Interaction: When we asked if the food could be packed up to take away, the manager stepped in, but with no apology or alternative solution. In fact, his attitude felt rude and dismissive, which only intensified our frustration. No offer to help or make amends was made.
Billing Error: To top it all off, the bill we received was double the correct amount. Itās fortunate we checked before paying; the mistake wasnāt acknowledged or explained.
Very disappointing experience. Thereās no sign of respect for guests' time or courtesy.
Will not be returning and would advise against visiting.
I'm adding the below in response to the owner's reply: Food and drinks order was taken at the same time. We had planned 1.5 hours for food and drink, and had communicated our timings to the waitress who said "no problem" but we started to worry as it got closer and closer to our departure time and food still had not appeared. We remained calm and polite throughout our stay. Regardless of our timings, there's no excuse for rudeness and dismissive attitude from the manager. I don't usually leave negative reviews but this experience was really disappointing. We were certainly not expecting fast food experience. We are on holiday and wanted to support a local business. If this is your business, as an owner, I would urge you to evaluate your staff attitude especially a manager who is a senior at your...

Booked a table for 2.30pm for Sunday lunch (made the booking weeks ago)
We arrived at 1.45pm and sat in the bar to have a drink before lunch , we made the bar staff aware we were early and happy to wait until 2.30pm
At 2.23pm I asked the same bar staff if our table was ready and she checked and said the table was just being wiped down and they would come and fetch us when ready
At 2.40pm I thought it was best to check and asked the same member of bar staff (young girl) you did say you will let us know when the table was ready didnāt you
She rang though to the restaurant and they said yes the table was ready (Iām absolutely certain we had been forgotten)
We went through to the dining room and the waitress said just to let you know there are no more Sunday roasts but we can offer you a beef sandwich
I said you have got to be joking we have been sat in the bar for over an hour and yet there had been multiple walk inās in the bar and all had been served with Sunday lunches .. one family of 5 had just received there Sunday lunches as we walked into the restaurant at 2.40pm
The waitress couldnāt have seems less bothered and offered no explanation at all We put our coats on and left ⦠no we didnāt want a bloody beef sandwich š
once outside I realised we hadnāt paid for a glass of wine and pint of beer (although the wine had hardly been touched) and feel a bit bad about that but couldnāt bring myself to go back in because of feeling so angry.

checked menu prior to booking arrived to be seated then to be told find 50 percent of the menu was not available.which was the bit they specialised in. I wanted to leave but not fair on the rest of the group
Noticed another table got served items we were told are not available when we politely checked told they were asked to pre-order as a large group
Would have been nice to get same option on booking if supply is an issue
150 spent on food we did nt particularly want and £32 for a house bottle of wine
My portion was similiar to a breakfast size left feeling Hungary It stated pair of kippers however I was given only one small kipper Seems customers are been billed for the refurb
Iām not opposed to paying a good fair price for good produce but suppose if your in a tourist location you donāt need repeat customers
The food the others got looked nice to be fair, waiter was fine. Hate leaving poor reviews but was so looking forward to the seafood it was new years day so maybe asking people would they like to pre book on such occasions may help the pub and customers I understand some people may not turn up but genuine customers would nt mind leaving a deposit.
