Had a fabulous meal last night. The guys were attentive without being intrusive. We had the usual poppadoms to spice up the appetite which were served with 5 sides not the usual 4 apparently the fifth is exclusive to the Spice House and well worth a dip.The starters Chicken chat for me and shish kebab for my hubby (who I might add does not like eating out at as much as I do) were hot and nicely served the chicken was plenty spicey served with a fab pancake with a real tasty cold side. Hubby's kebab was also very tasty. The curry arrived with a perfect breathing space we had both opted for out favourite Pathia no e lamb and partner chicken the shared vegetable pelau rice was moist and more than enough for 2 good esters. No words can do the curry justice suffice to say you gotta try it yourself. We mopped both up with a perfectly cooked nan the plates went back to the kitchen as clean as they came out. In fact it was a bit embarrassing when our wonderful waiter commented that the chef would be pleased to see such clean plates! We both had a bottle of cold Kingfisher to wash our meal down with and were pleasantly surprised to have a very reasonable bill of Only £39.10 can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. The waiters are well presented the place is spotless excellent food and the atmosphere is welcoming if your in the area u gotta give it a try. My hubby is...
Read moreWe last came here 8 years ago and it’s just as fantastic now (if not more so)! The food was fabulous and the staff were extremely attentive. We had two of the starter kebab sharers between 4 of us and there was so much on the sizzler plates. The prawns were massive and full of flavour. The chicken was surprisingly juicy, I think a lot of the time tandoori chicken can become quite dry so it was a pleasant surprise that this one wasn’t.
We also ordered 2 chicken bhuna, 1 chicken tikka bhuna, and 1 butter chicken along with 4 pilau rice and a naan bread. The butter chicken was probably the best I’ve ever tried and was somehow nicer than it was 8 years ago! Everyone else at the table was pinching the sauce with some of the naan bread! The rice was lovely and fluffy and the naan was also the best I’ve had. It has a slight crispness but was also very soft.
All the staff were lovely. Drinks were brought out very quickly as well as plates and cutlery. They ensure we knew which plates were red hot and set out everything perfectly. Whenever we were done with things they were very quick to move it from the table. Everyone was generally very polite and hardworking. We’d love to come more often but unfortunately it would be quite a long drive to come all the way up to Seahouses so we’ll have to settle with popping in when...
