Booked at table for my 6 year old son and myself for a carvery as we used to go here quite a lot and when i asked my son where he wanted to go he said here. The staff were polite and helpful. I ordered and paid for 1 adult and 1 child's carvery which we had to let the staff get for us due to covid regs. We was asked what meat we wanted (a choice of beef, turkey, pork and gammon) and we both chose gammon. we went back to our table and waited......after about 15/20 mins a member of staff came to the area we and others were seated (all still waiting for food) and she shouted "who ordered gammon"? to which i said us only to be told we are out of gammon could a choose something else. I then ordered the beef and my son turkey and again we waited When the food did arrive it was terrible. Although I ordered the beef I got given beef and Turkey. the beef was so over cooked it looked like it had been cooked for the whole day it was so chewy that when i tried swallowing it I nearly choked as i couldn't get it down. then there was the turkey I didn't order and that was just like it was the left overs of the turkey as it was served to me in like strands not a piece at all just strands which looked like it had spent the last 2 hours under the hot lights drying out. the whole meal was really disappointing there was absolutely nothing good about it I also ordered a coffee which was so weak so that was also a disappointment. On the other hand my son enjoyed his coke so over all I ended up paying over £19 for a coke. Thanks admirals landing I really appreciated that. I don't know if they've had a change of ownership but it was nothing like it used to be. Also I'm a bit disappointed that they don't seem to have a website I could leave a review on but maybe they are expecting bad reviews so they have took their website down as it just says new website coming soon. All in all a total waste of money and now i have to find somewhere else to take my son for a carvery. The only advice i can pass on is don't bother...
Read moreTruly loved this place over the last few months. During lock down we have had great Sunday lunches, their burgers are great. Harry (I think) cheeky chappie superb. So, all this food and drink taken onboard, I thought I'd start riding my bike. Usually ending up on the dock, popping into the Admirals Landing for a beer on the way home. Yesterday, thought I would go for my longest ride yet. Started at the docks in Bridgwater all the way to the end in Taunton and back again = 29 miles!!! The only thing keeping me going, a cold pint and a burger at the Admirals on my return.. My favourite pub over lock down. 50 kilometres later on my return, 7pm, shattered, exhausted, only my bike holding me up. I was happy to see front door wide open, went in to the foyer at the front to be met by the landlady. Telling me they were shut. I asked if she could just let me have a glass of water. She told me they had some people in having a meeting and they were shut. I explained I had just ridden for over 3 hours up the canal to Taunton and back and needed just a glass of water, she said sorry everything is turned off. Feeling sorry for myself, I got on my bike once again and managed to pick up a bottle of water at a shop in town. I decided then and there, that even though I thought this was a great place to go out with friends and regularly came here for great food and drink. It is all smoke and mirrors. They don't really care for regular customers. Never mind being a customer. Disgusting behaviour to towards someone in need of a drink of water. Boring bit. I checked bank account tonight. Between my girlfriend and I we have spent £356 pounds here in 3 months. Never again. Done. Shame on you. People like us have kept you going...
Read moreCame this afternoon booking for 2 adults, 3 children and a baby... personally had never been before however my friend who had booked said she'd been before and was good!!
Waited nearly half an hour past our booking for a table my friend had the sensible idea of queuing to pay for food and drinks whilst I waited for our table!! And hour past our original booking time we finally sat down with some food, the food quality I'd was good, however it was very evident that they had accepted far too many bookings then they could manage/seat etc which made it almost like sardines waiting for our table.... eventually ordered the puds, when the puddings arrived they forgot one, asked someone about it they said they go chase it up, spoke to someone else after another 10mins who said lady before had forgot what she was checking for!! Nearly 2hr 45min there in total and it was absolutely chaos!! Had quietened down by the time we left.... even my 6yr old has begged not to go back (the ones who's pud was what felt like forgotten about), it wasn't a brilliant first experience and I won't be rushing back, had customers giving looks because the baby understandably was getting irritable and had enough of sitting around.... I get and understand that they had a special deal on today, however that doesn't excuse taking on too many bookings, saw another family there we knew who said that exactly the same thing about the clearly took on too many at once, hopefully it improves however for us we won't be...
