Artichoke Gastropub — Restaurant in England

For a Saturday night it was very quiet which made evening eating experience very enjoyable there was plenty of food and all arrived at the same time my only gripe was the pint of real ale I had was far too cold. My sausage and mash was delicious although I would have preferred one less sausage so two really good quality ones and more mash and peas and the delicious gravy rather than 3 sausages. Made a reservation for 7:30pm, but when we arrived at 7:30pm the building was locked up and no one was to be seen, and no sign anywhere? Checked the website and our booking and they both said that it should be open? When we called to find out what's going on, the automated message said they were unavailable after it ringing. Really confused as to what's happened, and why if the pub was closed were we able to book a table? Had a fabulous meal here, the owners are friendly and the food is some of the best we’ve had recently. Service might not be the quickest, but honestly, I would always take genuinely freshly cooked food that takes a bit longer over ‘cooked in 10-minutes’ microwave food! We were also kept informed about any delays, which always counts for a lot. The steak was genuinely rare and seasoned perfectly. The various tapas were all delicious and clearly freshly prepared.
