Just had the best curry I've had in years. 5 years I've been living outside Berwick and never knew this place was so good. It's better than the one on Bridge Street anyway (not hard). Perfectly seasoned Palak Paneer with just the right amount of chilli and a beautifully just the right level of sweetness and coconut Veg Korma with a naan so fresh out the oven it was too hot to touch at first. Only one minor negative criticism, and it's really a complaint towards most Indian restaurants in general - the paneer wasn't fresh home made paneer, it was premade packet paneer. I know the difference because I make my own paneer, and the texture is on a whole other level. Very easy to make actually, and the only Indian I ever remember making it's own in house was the Bengal Brasserie in Great Malvern circa 2004 (since changed hands). I guess since most folk tend to go for the meat dishes and paneer isn't maybe ordered so much it's hard to know when to make it - it is easy to make but it's also quite messy. Other than that what I was served today was a feast for a king. Masterchef grub. Hope it's the same next time I go there, and I...

Couldn't comment on the food as we didn't order from here. two drivers from Amrans turned up and my partner collected what we though was our curry from a different restaurant.
they took the money and left. Once my partner got back to our caravan we realised it wasn't our order. we then collected our order but we were informed the previous food wasn't from them so we had to pay again.
we called amrans after being informed by security that it was them who we had the original delivered from to explain the mistake, return their food and get our money back.
However the person that answered the phone denied point blank of making any deliveries to our caravan park. it was only when I stated we had cctv footage that he quickly back tracked. After verifying how much money we had paid he agreed to have the driver return.
when the driver returned he verbally threatened my partner that he was going to bang him out next time.
to say we are disgusted is an understatement.
this may be normality in Berwick-upon-Tweed but this would not happen...
Read moreWhat on earth happened on Saturday 11th July? We have takeaway on a regular basis, and the food is always delicious. Some relatives wanted to treat us for our Birthdays, so we ordered and it came to just over £25 for both of us. The Tikka Massala was a pale orange yellow colour, and had absolutely no flavour, I couldn't believe it. My partner had a different dish and that too had no taste, just smelled minty. BOTH were so sweet we thought they had had an accident in the kitchen. Who was cooking tonight, this wasn't even close to your normal standard. The keema Naan had the meat all up one end, and again had no flavour, it's normally spicy and aromatic. We had the mixed kebab starter, which was dry and over cooked, but the spices were right. The rice was the only thing cooked properly. Amrans I can't quite believe how poor this food was, what a complete waste of £25, and upsetting because it was bought for us, what on earth do I tell the family when they ask how the meal was, I'm so disappointed, it...
