PizzaExpress — Restaurant in England

Staff were very rude. Made to feel as though we were an incovenience. The restuarant was also very quiet as it was a Monday evening. Waited a very long time for food, which was hard to understand given that it takes 10 minutes to cook a pizza and the restaurant was quiet. Waitress slammed my daughter's starter in front of her muttering to her that it was hot. My daughter is 3 years old and the waitress did not think it was important to warn us that the food was hot (just the 3 year old in a barely audible manner).Then my pizza arrived overcooked with chewy cheese and my partner's pizza was cold and not properly cooked. Because we'd already waited so long he ate the pizza rather than wait for a new one to be cooked. The next day he had the worst food poisoning he's ever had (probably because there was sausage on the pizza that was not properly heated up). There are plenty of nice restaurants in Knutsford with good food and friendly service. Avoid this place unless you find a genuine fawlty towers experience appealing. For my part I'd rather spend my hard earned cash somewhere where my food comes properly cooked, and without the threat of my child being scalded or the side helping...

I’ve been to Pizza Express many times, but this visit truly stood out thanks to our amazing waitress, Ella. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel so welcome — friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely throughout. It’s rare to come across someone who can make a simple meal feel special, but Ella absolutely did that.

We ordered two pizzas (one gluten free), some dough balls, and halloumi bites — everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The gluten free pizza was especially impressive — light, crisp, and full of flavour, which isn’t always easy to find.

What really made the evening magical was Ella’s warmth and professionalism. She struck the perfect balance between attentive service and letting us relax and enjoy our meal. You could tell she genuinely cared about giving every table a great experience.
