I had a really poor experience yesterday morning whilst visting this cafe. I arrived with my partner and two children, my partner asked the "lady" serving if he could order three bacon sandwiches and one bacon and egg with drinks at which point my partner asked if it was possible to have the bacon well done as his son doesn't like it any other way to which the woman's response was "it comes how it comes" very rude and considering we was the only customers in there I was shocked to say the least. Our breakfast arrived and the bacon looked barely cooked infact my partner only rate half a sandwich as by the time he had taken off the uncooked bits of bacon not much was left. No table check was done at any point to raise this complaint. Once we had finished eating what we could my partner raised if with a different lady behind the counter who said oh and threw it in the bin - no apology. As we were leaving the lady who had originally served us was outside laughing as we walked out and was trying to hide next to a little bucket and spade shop - very immature, poor service and lack of customer care. Started at 5 stars for location, ease of parking, fantastic choice of ice cream and located next to a good little beach shop.

1 star deducted for average-at-best sandwiches / baguettes and a luke warm pastie; genuinely tasted like a half microwaved ginster pastie - not what you should expect whilst holidaying in cornwall... overall not worth complaining at the time as we were hungry so just ate up to fill a hole and moved on to the beach so the kids could have fun.

Before leaving this review I decided to scan through other previous reviews and my last suggestion to the owner is all feedback should be welcomed, good or bad. Please consider conducting yourself in a more professional manner when responding and use this feedback as part of your continuous improvement plan. I'll assume however to receive a similar response.

Beautiful setting and building. The field it’s set within has a long list of do’s and don’ts; which is fine if we are all children and not adults. Here’s the key, if you want to be engaged in conversation this is probably not the place for you. If you are wheat or dairy intolerant your also not provided for. We all understand how difficult it can be to stock a 79p carton of long life soy milk. But it doesn’t end there... The underlying question here is; if your not interested in customer service, such as working with members of the public and providing a standards of service, you should do something else that that fills your heart with joy. The lady working in there was unhappy and could do with cheering up. The season is just beginning, what will it be like in August? The Bottom line is; first impressions count!
