Holiday that was a disappointment. First of all we had to change the date as there has been a bereavement in a family, we pushed the date from 22nd September to 13th October making the caravan cheaper as it is later in a season. I noticed I did not get part refund for the difference instead I've got charged admin fee £120 and ammendments fee £40, I'm not happy about that, surely part refund should have been offered as stay was going to be cheaper as later in a year

During our stay the weather turned very cold, we noticed on our final day that kitchen radiator was leaking and further more the central heating was not coming on so we had to have a very uncomfortable last night due TO HEATING NOT BEEN FIXED, further more the staff at reception was very unhelpful and inexperienced, her reasons for it was the fact she was just put in that post on Friday and had access to nothing, that was her view when approached. We've learnt that when we went to try to win a toy from one of your grabbing machines, I have put money in and £1 just got stuck inside and nothing happened, we went to see this lady at the reception and all she kept saying I've got access to nothing, just kept asking us which caravan we staying and then heard nothing back. WE DID NOT GET HELP AT ALL AS STAFF WAS INEXPERIENCED!!!!!!!!

I am very disappointed with this holiday, we've been going to your caravan park since 2013 and this is very disappointing after all those years, lack of customer support was...

A lovely, quiet beach just far enough away from the madding crowds of Newquay and Fistral. Dogs are permitted, which is no bad thing, and on my countless visits I've never experienced any mess.

There is a really handy coffee bar in the form of a repurposed military truck, which positions itself at various points on the beach during the day. The two very welcoming and slightly mad ladies running it (I mean that in the best possible way, they were an absolute pleasure to meet) thought we were equally mad for sitting with our hot chocolates in our little pop up shelter during a proper downpour, and they were undoubtedly right, but seeing that truck on a chilly autumn day was like coming across an oasis in the desert!

There is lifeguard cover (check though, don't take my word for it) and a toilet block on the car park. The car park is run by the National Trust so is free if you are a member, otherwise there is a charge.

A word of warning though, the tide comes in and out very rapidly and it would be easy to get caught out. The lifeguards do a great job of letting people know but it can all change very rapidly, especially around the Gannel estuary - so keep an eye on little ones. Every year when we return the shape of the beach and dunes is different, and this is testament to the power and unpredictability...

This is by far my favourite beach along this coast line. It is a big beach which makes it possible to distance from others and there is an accessible entrance where you dont have to climb the sand banks as there are two entrances/exits. Before you even get to the sea, you are met with a little river type of thing which you can swim in. This gets deeper the closer you get to the cliff and is really fun for both the older and younger generations. When you get to the main part of the sea its good for surfing as it has big waves and also fun to paddle in as it is clean water. Dogs are allowed on the beach and people often have barbecues. I wouldnt say this is the best beach for wheelchair users as the sand is very soft which will make it hard for wheels to be moved on the dry beach. The main car park is right next to the beach and often I leave my shoes in the car as there is hardly a walk. There is an overflow car park which closes at 9pm but if in this car park I'd recommend to wear your shoes as the pathway down could hurt your feet. There are lifeguards but not 24/7 I'm not sure when they arrive or leave but they are here...

This is one of our favourite dog-friendly beaches in North Cornwall. There's a large National Trust car park which is as close as you can get to the beach just over the sand dune or around and along the easy access path towards the Gannel. There's a public pay-&-display grass parking area by the cafe and toilets. Walk down and onto the NT parking area to access the beach. Its a perfect place for lounging around on the beach, walking alongside the Gannel river, or for water sports and swimming within the lifeguard protected areas. Surfing and body-boarding is brilliant here, as the surf funnels into the bay giving some beautiful waves for beginners or experts depending on the swell. If the surf is poor, Stand-Up-Paddle boarding is perfect, especially along the Gannel amongst the steep sided valley. The Bowgie Inn on West Pentire is close by with more pay and display parking and excellent views out onto the bay. People access the beach from up along the coast path here too.

If you're going here then go early or be prepared for a very long wait down the single track road. The problem with this beach is there are 2 car parks next to each other and all the national trust members queue to get in that one blocking the road up, or you could park in the one on the right for £6 a day. There's toilets here and a cafe next to the car park and a truck on the beach selling ice creams and coffee. There are no bins on the beach or car parks so take your rubbish home. There is a nice estuary to the side which depending on the tide has very strong currents but at low tide is nice to paddle in for the kids. The main sea front at low tide is quite a walk away but it's a very big beach. Overall it's a nice beach but gets very busy on the dry section. Dogs are allowed unfortunately so be prepared for them barking all day and running around under your feet.
