We popped in on the spur of the moment around midday, or just before. The woman said they were ‘not quite ready’ but we were able to go in to get a table. I opted for one by the window but was very clearly told, not politely asked, TOLD that we would have to sit at a table for 2. We were not allowed to sit at the table for 4 by the window. I was surprised and this clearly showed as she said it was Bank Holiday and they were expecting to be busy. I can appreciate that but we were the only ones there and had popped in for a quick lunch. It’s worth noting that another chap was told the same and yet by the time we left, there were still PLENTY of tables available. So much for the crowd rushing in at midday.

Also the carbonara was dreadful. Thin liquid which was more like soup was found at the bottom of the bowl. The young waitress did ask if we happy with the food part way through and we just said ‘yes’ because we didn’t want any issues and just couldn’t wait to leave.

We won’t be going...

We had a nice lunch at Bella Italia, an italian style restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. Even though the restaurant was quite full, the staff were very friendly and accommodating—they pushed a few tables together so our whole group could sit comfortably, which we really appreciated.

The restaurant is very family-friendly. The kids were given coloring sheets and crayons to keep them entertained, and there’s a dedicated children’s menu with plenty of options.

The starters—especially the garlic pizza bread—were absolutely delicious, and the desserts were fantastic. The main dishes (we had the Spaghetti Carbonara and the Lasagna) were decent but nothing extraordinary. We've been there once more for dinner, tried the pizzas this time, which were really delicious.

Overall, it’s a great spot for a quick and pleasant...

My wife and I were celebrating our first anniversary at Bella Italia where we had dined at previously. Initially the service was good, we were seated quickly and our orders were taken promptly. However once we had finished our main meals, it took a considerable amount of time (one hour) for the waiting staff to check on us, despite the restaurant not seeming busy, leading us to feel as if we've been forgotten. We were excited to have dessert, however we couldn't keep waiting any longer and I seeked out a member of staff for the bill, not bothering to wait even longer for some dessert. Even after this it took approximately half an hour to be seen to again, further reinforcing the feeling of being forgotten. We won't be returning here for any further dining nor recommending to any of our...

First things first, food itself is good, the waiting staff were really friendly. But one very important thing is, when we walked into the restaurant, we were refused to be seated by the host person, mentioning that they accept only with reservation, even though there were good number of tables vacant. So i opened google and made a reservation available in next 30 minutes. And when we came back after 30 minutes, a group of 4 people entered restaurant as a walk-in, and they were seated by the same person. It very well felt like some level of discrimination towards tourists or non European people. And the food we ordered took a good 50 minutes to arrive, though we could see people who came in later were getting their full orders served very quickly. Its not a good experience at all.

The problem with most chain restaurants is that they are rubbish and this Bella Italia is no exception. While the service was acceptable and our waitress pleasant, the food was not. Service was quite speedy, but I guess if you are serving up pasta with the texture of a pot noodle, then it’s probably not taken long to cook. There are so my many fantastic Italian restaurants in Brighton and many of them are half the price and double the quality of what you’ll get on offer here. Tbh we only went here to try something different and give it a chance, but we won’t make that mistake again. The quality of the food is just not up to the standard of the many restaurants in close proximity and the prices are a complete rip off for what is on offer. Not really impressed at all sadly.

We had a lovely dinner at Bella Italia and couldn’t be happier with the experience! Our server, Cloe, was incredibly friendly and welcoming—she made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. To start, we shared some amazing olives and the caramelised onion flatbread and it was delicious—perfect with just the right balance of sweetness and savoury!!!Definitely a must-try!!!For mains, my fiancé had the pomodoro mozzarella simple, fresh, and comforting.I went for the Lentil Ragù and it really impressed me. Really nice flavours and the spaghetti was cooked perfectly. We had such a good time and left feeling full and happy. Highly recommend Bella Italia for a relaxed meal with great food and lovely service ,specially if you’re lucky enough to be served by Cloe!
