A trip away to Brighton for my birthday. 3 night stay.
This hotel exceeded every expectation we had and more.
To begin with, we were greeted by the hotel manager on reception who is very clearly and entirely deserving of his position. First of all a huge thank you to you for making our stay extra special. You went above and beyond for us which made this so memorable and such a lovely stay. I recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone if you’re thinking of staying in Brighton. (I apologise for not remembering your name but you are such a nice person).
The reception staff are so respectful and polite, Karen on front desk is super sweet and lovely to talk to, thank you for helping us with our stay and questions we had . Upon our arrival we had our room upgraded for free to an executive suite with a full sea view room and given a complimentary bottle of Prosecco! The room was spotless, pristine and absolutely gorgeous. We couldn’t have asked for better. Bedside charging, mini-bar that you can request to be filled, overhead shower, TV which you can cast from your phone to, Free WiFi, a huge king size bed, robes, slippers, extra blanket and pillows, rubber Matt for the bathroom, hairdryer, iron and board, Nespresso coffee machine, a kettle and a safe. There might even be more i have forgotten.
The breakfast is SO worth it. You have so much choice and everything is cooked perfectly. All fried breakfast you can imagine but not greasy!!! Amazing. All pastries, bread, yoghurt, porridge. The amount of choice is pretty insane.
The room service is pricey! A £6 charge for them to bring it to your room however if you’re staying in this hotel you should have the money for that. This hotel is the price it costs because it’s STUNNING. It’s worth every penny.
The hotel is a 5 minute sea front walk from the pier which is so convenient. It’s probably the closest most established hotel in the area too.
There is access to the leisure centre which has a gym, sauna, steam room and a lovely sized pool. Everything is so clean. Not one thing in the hotel was even slightly dirty.
The parking for this hotel is underneath the hotel, again very convenient. However be aware of the charges as there is a lot of misinformation online. The charge is £29 for 24hrs. But can get confusing so definitely ask reception for help as they’re more than accommodating. However at the end of our stay, due to what I believe was a small irrelevant issue we had, we were told our parking was already paid for, and complimentary! (This will have been around £100!!) This was a cherry on top for our marvellous stay… We are unbelievably grateful for this. I could probably write so much more, or may have even forgotten to write some things, but everyone should know how lovely this was.
Thank you so much Leonardo Hotel for making my birthday extra special. We hope to...
Read moreGreat location and a hotel that has such great potential but attention to detail and service levels are very poor.
Our room was well presented when we arrived. After that housekeeping was poor with bed poorly made, fresh towels provided but toilet and basin not cleaned. No vacuuming as some crumbs on the floor were just left for days.
Dining table in the room wasn't given a clean.
No pride in the work undertaken, no attention to detail or care taken.
We paid for a great sea view which we got but it was let down by dirty windows with bird poo. The room had a lovely dining table but we kept the curtains closed whilst eating as windows with bird poo on them didn't enhance any dining experience. The windows were cleaned a few days later but I would advise the anyone staying to bare in mind that the window cleaners do appear without warning able to see straight into your bedroom so ensure you are dressed appropriately.
The pool and sauna facilities were very good.
Breakfast selection is great but quality is not.
Staff aren't proactive in cleaning and preparing tables at breakfast it's a kind of if you don't ask you don't get mentality. Everyday bar one we had to either ask for cutlery or try and find a table with some on. When asking for cutlery they often direct you to a cutlery tray behind a staff desk. The best seats at breakfast is by the large windows with the sea view but what really let's it down is the fact that the windows and the outside sills have not been cleaned for God knows how long so you are met with dirt and cobwebs on the sils outside and it looks disgusting and like there is no pride or care. Paying these kind of prices for rooms and getting lacklustre service and cleanliness is unacceptable.
On a positive the manager Jerome was responsive and great I emailed prior to staying advising it was our anniversary and he responded swiftly and kindly arranged rose petals and a bottle of fizz in our room with a handwritten note. This was a lovely touch but one of the champagne glasses was dirty. Not Jerome's fault but shows a lack of care and attention to detail from the staff. The is no can do attitude amongst staff.
This trip was a real treat for us so very disappointed that we were left extremly underwhelmed.
We will be back to Brighton but unfortunately not to this hotel. Such a shame as this place has lot's of potential. This level of service and cleanliness is not on at this price point in fact regardless of the price point...
Read moreHaving a job requiring a lot of travel, I often stay at hotels and this is one of the most disappointing. |1. The importance of friendly, helpful staff is the key to any great hotel - the staff here were far from this. Having booked the hotel through a business account, we were instantly told how much we could have as dinner allowance etc, in a condescending tone from the moment we arrived. Having travelled many times with business, I am totally aware of the policies in place and follow all agreements. However in any other hotel, I’ve been able to charge a soft drink to the business account, settling the difference at the end of the stay. From the moment I stepped foot in this hotel, there is a clear sense of suspicion from the staff that you will not pay the bill (which is not the case and there is also a business card on the account should they wish to charge that and I sort internally with my employer as most businesses, including mine have such agreements). Every single time anything was ordered (2 glasses in total and a Diet Coke I 2/: pushed into paying for) there was a question before I could even finish (HAVE YOU SET UP A TAB) giving the illusion that they did not believe I was going to pay. I appreciate there may be opportunists before that have made the staff wary, but to treat every customers as a criminal or freeloader is outrageous. |2. Having been out at work all day, since 7:30am, I returned at 4pm and my room had not been serviced - just a replacement of fresh towels would be useful. |3. The rooms are dated, with water mark patches on ceiling, as if previously a leak. The bathrooms are basic and need a refresh. The pictures are not reflective of the state of the hotel. Dark rooms if you’re on the inside with no natural light. |4. Breakfast was poor, it had all been sat out for a long time - with carrots/cucumbers looking like they’d been out in the sun for hours. Yoghurt was warm. Even omelettes and pancakes were only being made at certain times, being told ‘omelettes are available in 20 minutes’.|5. The gym wasn’t clean, with dust on all equipment, which is a shame as the machines are of good quality.|6. Working for a huge business, I will be ensuring I tell other colleagues not to stay here and will be making recommendations to look at this hotel as a business approved partner going forward. ||Be kind, be patient and be trusting, at least until there’s a...
