Stayed at the Queens hotel in brighton last week, booked two nights at the apartments and the first night was awoken at midnight by this…..It went on for 2.5 HOURS. Called the reception and next day we moved into the main hotel…a shabby, damp, dated room. Honestly i wanted to leave but faced with a 5 hour drive home on little to no sleep it wasnt ideal. Hotel still hasnt formally apologised or even offered to refund the money despite their admission the guest in question has had issues before. 😳 Id avoid it completely! #queenshotelbrighton #badcustomerservice #hoteldrama #fyp#fypplorepage #t#traumatisedbrighton #dontdodrugs #psycho #meltdown #share #annoyed #tiktok #mental #travel

Firstly, I was welcomed very nicely by the receptionist (didn't get a name unfortunately) and he took payment etc for the room, explained breakfast as well as the location of all the different facilities etc. My room was T2 (Tower Suite on 2nd Floor) We had a massive bed, amazing view of the beach, all the way from the newer peer and down to the remains of the old pier. All viewable from the sofa if needed. The bathroom had a toilet, double sink, shower and jacuzzi bath. The room had a large TV, tea and coffee making facilities, iron, safe, wardrobe, fridge, as well as air conditioning which could be controlled by the display on the wall by the bathroom. The AC was working incredibly well and kept our room nice and cool (17C) The jacuzzi bath was one of my reasons for booking the room. I just felt we needed somewhere to relax and unwind when we got back from a day out walking and having a few drinks. To which we made the most of it at around 23:30 when we had finished cocktails downstairs (2 for £18 might I add) The water pressure was fine and the temperature of the water was a bit hot for my liking, but the mrs prefers it that way. The bed was super comfortable, and it was lovely to be able to starfish without accidentally booting the mrs. I slept perfectly! The noise of the cars and bikes out the front weren't even that bad after midnight and before 9am. 10/10 for the bed! We went down at around 09:30 for breakfast the next morning. It wasn't overly busy, but it started to fill up after we had sat down. You had a choice of a buffet cooked breakfast and/or a continental breakfast. Complete with tea, coffee, apple juice and orange juice. There are extras you can order at special request such as poached egg etc. The Breakfast was your typical hotel restaurant buffet breakfast. Nothing to complain about, nothing to write home about, just your average breakfast. Nevertheless, it filled me up a treat! Unfortunately I had to return to my room soon after finishing my first plate, as it was far too early for me to have the odd unruly kid screaming. After going back to the room, freshened ourselves up, it was about half 10, so we decided to check out. We were given the opportunity to store our bags for a few hours whilst we went for a walk, and we were also informed that we were allowed to use the pool, sauna and gym facilities until 17:00 if needs be, which was a nice touch! Obviously no review is a true review without any negatives, and to be honest it was difficult to find any. So I'll be constructively critical. As a whole, the place is great. But I would say that it needs a bit of freshening up in places. A new lick of paint here and there, a bit of new carpet, some new fixtures and fittings, tidying up exposed screw heads and rough mastic. Just those little bits that pop out and catch your attention. The bits and bobs I saw didn't impact my stay, but the fact that I noticed them and thought "that could do with a bit of jazzing up" means other more critical people will notice them too. NEVERTHELESS, would I stay here again? YES! Despite the noisy kids at breakfast (it was summer hols) the drunk dude falling over out the front and the odd bit that needed tidying up, I would love to stay here again. The location is great. The view was great. The bed was awesome and the jacuzzi hit the spot nicely. Thank you very much to the staff at Queens! We'll be back in the future!

Update after 3 nights: Less Stars Due To Lack Of Sleep!! 2 sleepless nights in a room that had lots of continuous pipe noise throughout the night till all hours of the morning I was very glad to go home! Liz on reception is a diamond! Dennis from maintenance is brilliant. Mia from house keeping is a gem and really cleaned my room spotless!! Bar staff are very friendly also. The issues were no fault of the staff as they were mostly helpful, tried to fix the problem and listened to all of my complaints taking into account my valid complaints! Original Review: After reading several reviews I decided I had no other choice but to go as my son had gifted me this Wellness Break for mother’s day. Amazing Views (Panoramic) of Brighton Beach, Pier and Sea front from the Tower Room and soooooo much room I could swing several furry animals and none of them would be harmed in the process! Bed comfy and firm just as I like it. Room was immaculately clean and trust on mary ‘I searches for dirt!’ No complaints thus far. Sustinence: Food menu is very varied but no Jerk Chicken or Rice n Peas - its called the Queens Hotel & I am yet to be aware of any Royal Blood Queen to enjoy a plate of Jerk anything let alone rice and NOT green peas! So on we go…I enjoyed my steak dinner (STEAK) yes I repeat again as I gave up being a vegan yesterday and not about that life any more…no tea no shade no pink lemonade and no more only veggies please…lest I digress Steak and Complimentary Mothers day wine…the Malbec was foine!!!! (Fine) Dessert was Chocolate Brownie with ice cream…need I say more?? DELISH!!!!!! Building: Dated and Very Worn Looking Exterior but the old fashioned decor and vintage feel of my room suits me 100 percent! Spa/Sauna/Swimming Pool/Gym access all included in the price - the pool water was lovely and warm and I was the only one swimming at one point everyone got out after I dipped my toes in…did not stay long maybe too much chlorine! The Steam Room was interesting and very welcoming by the regulars and well seasoned visitors. Staff: Pretty People made me feel so comfortable to book and there is a discount for guest whilst staying. Staff are genuine and authentic in greeting customers, very helpful with any issues or concerns I raised and were swift to investigate when I complained of odd sounds from the room next door…wanted to make sure nowt nefarious was going on so I reported it to staff who checked/confirmed said ‘vibrations’ and re-assured me there was a technical or mechanical issue with the pipes. They offered me a change of room and I declined the first night and was kindly given some ear plugs - The room I am in IS the best in the hotel so ‘me nah move’ (I am not re-locating/downgrading to any rooms thank you) Lord…its day one… This is a good un!!! So far I recommend and will certainly come back once I know the pipe and water pressure issues are resolved! Diligent Security Woman on front desk is a real extra special layer of protection and very good at her job!!

We chose the hotel for a few days away to celebrate our anniversary. It was in a convenient location, included a spa and also had a salon for treatments. Exactly what we wanted. Originally we were going to drive but I happened to stumble across their T&C information to say they do not have parking. I think we must have seen something misadvertised on an alternative booking website that stated it had parking available, it certainly did not. Luckily it was about 20min walk from the train station. It is very conveniently located near the sea front, the pier and the sea life centre. The brighton centre for shows is also nearby. On arrival we were able to check in to our room earlier than stated, which was fantastic. The room was very basic and tatty, but fine for 2 nights. As we settled into the room we could hear creaking. The people above our room, as they walked around the floor boards creaked so loudly and you could hear them turn the bathroom light on which automatically turns on the extractor fan. We knew we wouldn't get a good night's sleep so we asked to change rooms. The man of the the front desk was miserable and seemed very inconvenienced by our request to move to the 4th floor. He said no rooms were cleaned yet and we were happy to move later on after we had explored the area. When we arrived a new woman was on the desk with the same man we spoke to before behind her. No notes were left about us wanting to change rooms and he did not step forward to acknowledge we had come back to hange rooms. She was very apologetic and gave us a new room key. The new room was OK, but at least we didn't have anyone above us. There must have been a club or bar nearby as both nights we were woken up by loud music or general drunken shouting. The windows didn't help keep any of the external noise out. Both mornings my husband was woken by banging, maybe from pipes at 5am. I heard it in the early evening and he said that is what he hears at 5am. The breakfast was very good with a somewhat decent variety of options. Cooked breakfast of the usual elements. There was cereal, toast and continental options available with tea, coffee and fruit juices. All was self serve buffet style. The whole hotel needs a major face-lift, it is so tatty. Bad wallpaper with some peeling off, dents in the walls, badly repaired with a mosaic of old paint, filler and new paint on the walls. The bathroom taps leaked, the floors creaked. I noticed a leak in the dining room wall with a bulge at the top of the wall and water running down. There is a leisure club with pool, gym, steam room and sauna. We were really looking forward to using that as that was the main reason for our stay. But it was tiny and tatty. The gym had the basic equipment, the pool was very small but OK to swim around in. You're asked to shower before going in and the water was freezing, no hot came through at all. We used the sauna and the steam room was taped up and out of action. The changing rooms were small and felt dirty. There were no areas to change privately with everything open, including the showers. Women are given a key for the lockers, men's can use a padlock. You're given a towel on arrival but I would recommend bringing one down from your room. They give you a hand towel, it was tiny and couldn't be worn around your waist. You're then walking through the gym to get to the pool and sauna, at opposite ends, while walking around in your swimwear. We were in there an hour, it really wasn't great. It was fine for 2 days, but had it been a week I think I would have asked for a discount or refund to...

I would like to start off with the good first. Staff were very approachable and friendly, bed was also very comfortable. When I arrived it was my birthday and the receptionist provided 2 free glasses of alcohol on the house for me and the wife which was sweet. Also you are right near the sea by the Pier but so are other hotels right on that stretch to choose from.

Now the bad. The rooms are made out to be really nice online but they are very dated, the gap under the door was huge in my room which another person has also complained about so maybe it is the same room. No one helps you up to your room with the luggage either.

Called staff on numerous occasions and if you don’t tell them you require something within a certain time frame they will take their time. I asked for water and this came after a long time and I had to call back again. They charge to bring you dinner plates if you require them too which is unfair.

The bedding seemed dirty as it had a lot of dust and debris on it, they did provide a fresh one for me upon request but when I checked it had the same issue which means whoever is changing the bedding for each room is leaving the clean bedding on the floor as the dust and debris does not make sense.

The small TV on the wall was bent which is not professional. The window was so dirty you could not see through it, you can tell it hasn’t been cleaned on the exterior for many years.

In a nutshell this place is overly priced as it is very dated and not modern inside, Brighton was amazing but me and the wife did not like this hotel.

Interesting fact is that when I popped in to Jury’s Inn next door, the staff were so professional and hotel looked amazing and modern. The staff showed me a room for the future if I ever need one and it was so modern was unbelievable.

The staff also added that I am the second person to attend Jury’s and say the same thing as a lady attended before me and stated that she booked Queens due to the pictures online but realised it is so dated. Staff at Jury’s also take you to each room with your luggage, it feels that much more special.

Also the spa facilities are just a small room which remained closed both nights I was there as it didn’t seem busy at all which says something. You have a gym and a pool but this is not a proper Spa hotel as I bought it for a great experience but we didn”t end up having that experience.

I will definitely come back to Brighton again but will stay at Jury’s as it was £10 more when booking it but at the time I was not aware and got sold dreams through pictures of Queens hotel.

Also when using the pool, a kind customer got talking to me and stated that there is a Man harassing women in the gym area, the man then came to the pool. The customer who told me this stated that security are aware but he was never removed from the hotel. I did not even see security at the hotel throughout my stay.

The stay was around £160 so was not cheap, it isn’t what your expect.

I hope this helps someone who is visiting.

This review is not a dig at the staff as they were really nice it isn’t their fault the hotel is dated. Needs a serious upgrade, the kettle and hair dryer are also the most basic £5 ones you will find in Argos. If you are like me and my wife and are booking this for an occasion do not do it as it is expensive and not worth it, needs serious interior design. Go to a different hotel as there are many to choose by the sea on that...
