We recently visited the restaurant and I promised myself I would leave a review. On arrival the small restaurant was buzzing with people enjoying the food and we were greeted by one of the brothers who own the restaurant. We had been wanting to visit here for some time but had been unable to get a table so we were very excited and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is very honest in its appearance with Bollywood movies playing on T.Vs, giving it a homely welcoming feel. The buffet was explained to us and we started to explore the dishes on offer. Although there was not a massive variety of different dishes, the food that was available and in plenty of supply was very hot and freash. The Chilli chicken, Lamb curry and Butter chicken were our favourites and the unlimited supply of freash hot Nan bread is so delicious, you could just keep eating it, it was so light and my husband did just that!! We looked at the dessert menu and wouldn't usually have dessert as they often tend to be the typical hard frozen coconut shells that take a eternity to eat, but after seeing the menu we decided to have a mixed platter which was devine and finished our meal off a treat. Overall we would say Bollywood Buffet ticks all the boxes, it's very much all about the food being as authentic as possible and the outstanding welcoming service! It is not your typical Indian restaurant with mood lighting and waiters in waist coats it's like going to a friend's for supper which we loved. We have eaten in some of the nicest Michelin star restaurants in the country and I can honestly say we enjoyed this experience equally. Well done we will be back soon if we can...
Read moreWe had a big family meal here here with over 20 of us. I wasn't so sure what it would be like before going in but I was pleasantly surprised. The owner greated us with the warmest welcome and was so helpful throughout and couldn't do enough to ensure we had the best experience. We had young children and babies with us who were provided with good quality children's food which they enjoyed. For a smaller restaurant I wasn't expecting so much variety I was pleasantly surprised how much choice they had.
The buffet was kept replenished and clean throughout.
I mentioned to the owner about my sons long list of allergies when I arrived which he took note of and advised which dishes we should avoid. I felt confident that my son could safely eat here. I also was advised that the restaurant makes everything from scratch with no ready made pastes or sauces which I think you can tell when eating here the food tasted delicious and fresh. I also want to mention the cleanliness of the toilets which was a pleasant suprise as this is not always the case in some independent restaurants.
Since attending I have recommended the restaurant to many others and will hopefully dine again...
Read moreI was fortunate enough to have an adjoining pitch yesterday at the Rochester Pride event. Right from the minute we met they were super friendly and helpful a lovely hard working married couple. All of their food was cooked fresh onsite, which is a massive undertaking but it tasted amazing. I have been fortunate to work in India and have eaten in local non tourist restaurants and in my colleagues homes and this is REAL traditional Indian food that has probably been handed down from generation to generation. Honestly the balance of spice, heat and flavours was amazing. As a restaurant owner I am big on the quality of the ingredients, how it is cooked and its presentation. This food was top quality, looked incredible and tasted divine. My only criticism is it’s too cheap. For what you get this is a bargain. Put your prices UP! Please support this amazing couple as I know first hand how hard it is to run a restaurant. SUPPORT LOCAL!!...
