We went here on New Yearâs Day, so perhaps the service was not up to normal standards but regardless of this we were greeted in a very unfriendly manner by the presumed owner of the Cafe, he was very rude, blunt and ignorant and I got the feeling he didnât want any customers as they were a nuisance.
We were told to go upstairs to take a table and after being handed the menu which was scruffily hand written on paper. we waited at least 25 mins for two very simple meals.
The food was very average, and poor value for money as the quality was disappointing. The jacket potato which had been microwaved was bland and tasteless, it was terrible for ÂŁ7.50.
We found the toilets to be pretty dirty and there was an unpleasant smell, suggesting the room hadnât been cleaned in a while.
When we paid, (cash only, no card payments allowed) it was ÂŁ20 for two simple meals and two fruit juices, we were conned. No receipt was offered either.
