I don’t usually leave negative reviews — I genuinely prefer to highlight the positive. But after multiple disappointing experiences, I feel it’s time to speak up. I’ve been a loyal customer of Caffè Nero, and it’s the only café I choose to visit. Unfortunately, this recent visit was the final straw.
There is one European (not English) female staff member who consistently delivers excellent service — she’s professional, efficient, and clearly takes pride in her work. She’s the only reason I’ve held on this long. The rest of the staff, however, seem uninterested and dismissive. Any request beyond the usual is either ignored or treated as an inconvenience. Returned the key to the staff and explained what I found and said I would go elsewhere but I was handed a large toilet roll for the dispenser and was expected to face the embarrassment of walking back through the busy cafe to the toilets. I declined. The staff member then took it herself but when we got to the disabled toilet she couldn't open the dispenser at which point a 2nd key materialised to open the unisex toilet. This again was not particularly clean but at least had a toilet roll! I accept the reasons why the toilets might need to be accessible by a key, but there should be clear signs AND there can be no excuse for the state of the toilet area which was clearly not being...
