WORST RESTAURANT IN HARROGATE - AVOID.

Literally just left here after spending over 2 miserable hours! Service initially was really good (when there were only 3 other tables in). Our drinks and starters were ordered quickly and came in a decent amount of time. The mixed starter was really nice. Unfortunately, the more customers that came in, the worse it became. Our food had not arrived for well over an hour, so when we went to leave (along with two other tables who were as fed up as us), one of the staff said our food was literally ready now and basically begged us not to leave. We decided to stay under the promise the drinks would be free. The food arrived, but unfortunately we were all so fed up and tired by this point so we couldn't eat most of it. The food we did eat wasn't exactly the best, and one of the orders was wrong (we received satay skewers instead of actual satay chicken as a main). This place has completely ruined our Friday evening. No apology or explanation given other than "It's a busy night" - Most Fridays are busy, so staff it accordingly!!

My partner and I are just back from this fabulous restaurant. It was one of the most delicious chinese meals we've had for a long time. It's a buffet style restaurant but the chef cooks your meals fresh to order. You wait a bit longer for the chef to prepare your order but it's well worth the wait. We ordered two hot & sour soups, salt & pepper chicken wings, and Peking style ribs for starter. They were all phenomenally delicious! And because the chef cooks your meals to order, they come out to your table hot (temperature-wise). The main dishes were equally delicious - szechaun chicken, crispy chicken in Thai sweet chilli sauce, and king prawn (I mean "KING" prawns) with ginger & spring onions. I have been going to cheung won ocassionally for many years as the price was good, however, i went last night with my girlfriend and we both had the buffet, with a drink each, totaling approximately £30 for the bill so it isn't so cheap unless you go on a particular time. I would still have been happy at that price, however, i noticed that some of the meat was unnaturally soft and cold on the buffet and one of the ice cream flavours had strange discolouration in it. Later last night both my girlfriend and i felt bad stomach pain all this is still feeling bad for both of us this morning and has prompted this review.
