Cold Bath Deli — Restaurant in England

Having been contacted by the owner following my previous review, which I was pleasantly surprised by, here is an update.

It is most refreshing to see that the owner actually cares about all the people who visit and furthermore to invite my wife and I to return. We placed our order and whilst waiting for our drinks a lovely lady asked if we would like some water, it was quite a warm day, so we accepted this thoughtful gesture. The staff today were particularly attentive, clearing tables promptly and when the ‘rush’ had abated made themselves busy tidying shelves etc… two staff members asked us if everything was alright with our food and drinks and of course it was. What a difference from our last visit and we received an apology and were told our breakfast was complementary. Much better service, delighted that higher management/ ownership were bothered to get in touch and to implement changes. I visited the Cold Bath Deli with my wife, on October 8th 2018. I ordered a few items, paid and then took a seat. When finished we left, and walked out of the shop and across the road We were just about to enter another shop when a lady from the Cold Bath Deli came running across the street and said that we hadn't paid Of course we had, I had the receipt and of course a record of the transaction Still -potentially embarrassing, especially since it was the same person who had taken my payment The food and coffee was quite good, but the accusations were unfounded and unwelcome Mistakes happen, and we are all human, but, if visiting The Cold Bath Deli -best to get a receipt I'll avoid returning...

A lovely relaxed, quirky, slightly bohemian little place. We popped in here for a late lunch as we were quite hungry at the time. The menu seemed adequate enough and there was an option of Gluten Free bread for any of the sandwiches. I went for one of the HUGE sausage rolls along with a bowl of fries. My wife had a BLT on gluten free bread. It wasn’t the best of breads (as not many gluten free ones are) but the sausage roll was delicious and the fries plentiful! We were also tempted by the selection of cakes. My wife went for one of the three GF options, a Peanut Butter Brownie and I had a Raspberry Frangipani. Both...
