We have been coming to Costa for many years. The best part isn’t really the coffee, it’s the staff. These are some of the nicest people you will ever meet; being super kind and friendly, and making some of the best drinks you will ever drink. They are the reason that Costa tastes better, because it’s the dedication and love into coffee making that’s the secret ingredient to a better drink. Sadly, the ‘chain’ itself, or its higher management so to speak, has made decisions in recency that leave you feeling a bit cheaped out on. Over the years we have noticed steady price increases (even befor the cost of living and inflation). While there is something to be said about struggling business these days, Costa is by no means small and they are owned by Coca-Cola. They are not struggling for money. Furthermore, shortly after a recent price hike for all of the food at Costa, Costa started taking out sausages from their Sausage baps to go from 4 to 3. They then made them smaller only a few months later. This is a blatant cash grab and a cheap out from Costas executives and it is especially upsetting given there was no price reduction to make up for it. We recently also found out that these same executives are now not allowing stores to sell their leftover pastries at 50% off in order to clear them out, but rather throw them away if they aren’t sold at full price. This is a total waste and is a shame since these pastries can be quite expensive and they still get money with a sale rather than the bin. No blame can be put on their staff, they are doing their best and put effort into making the experience as good as it can be, but the higher management at Costa are only looking for a higher profit line, and it shows.

New Costa in town and it had a nice and fresh feel to it. We had some gingerbread lattes which tasted good. Staff were very happy and engaging.

Toilets are a big let down , the water that keeps running as the tap is broken , it was the same last week, so tap hasn’t been repaired since then ? Don’t know how long that’s been going on as my first visit was last week, to top it up the toilet flash broken as well today and water continuously flashing in the toilet , the flash button system comes of the wall as well , puddle on the floor under the hand dryer with a wet sign underneath ( was the same last week) when you dry your hands all the water from the floor wets your shoes , complete disaster of a toilet, find it hard to understand why a big company as costa couldn’t put some repairs in place for such a long time, staff lovely, cappuccino’s quite strong. Lovely...

Visited last week and went inside to order, the girl on the till took the order totally wrong. I asked for the breakfast deal, hot drink and sausage bap and also a cold hazlenut latte. She didn't tell me they had no sausage baps, inputted the cold hazelnut latte as a hot latte and it wasn't til I stood waiting for the bap that they told me they hadnt charged for it?! Went again this morning, asked for a breakfast wrap and they had none? Its 9.30am!!! Ordered the sausage bap instead and it tasted like it was pre made and microwaved? For nearly 4 quid! I think Greggs across the way is maybe the better option...
