13/09/2023 Me and my friend entered the establishment with the intent on going to the bathroom and then ordering a drink for herself and her brother who works locally. Due to the fact my friend has urgency issues, we decided to enter the bathroom first which we thought wouldnât be an issue to which we were greeted with an older female member of staff banging on the door repeatedly telling us to get out whilst my friend was on the toilet. Iâll also preface that i was in the disabled bathroom stall as my friend passes out often whilst using the toilet and she is also physically disabled, whilst these disabilities may not be visible i think itâs important to note that not all disabilities are and costa coffee in redcar should work on educating themselves more on this. After the woman had finished beating the door she then tried the door handle repeatedly, startling my friend whilst being on the toilet. Urgency issues aside, nobody wants to be disturbed whilst doing their business itâs very off putting. She also lied and told us there were people outside waiting to use the disabled toilet, even if there were my friend is ALSO disabled and is entitled to use the bathroom however long she needs to, why would she need to give up her space. After this we had exited and planned to just walk straight out but we were then haggled by the same woman telling us to not come back. In conclusion, i strongly advise some extra training in customer service and disability awareness, although after attempting to educate the woman could still admit no fault, so perhaps some people are not cut out to work in customer...
Read moreManageress very rude and struggled to take our order and said she kept getting confused with our three chocolate drinks.
I donât normally leave negative reviews with this current economic climate we are in but in this case I feel I have little choice as this isnât my first bad experience here. Wether itâs the manageress or the female staff member with all the tattoos (I canât remember her name) there always seams to be a lot of attitude and me feeling the need to calm the situation for the sake of the other customers. Atmosphere is always very difficult to sit and enjoy a drink. Due to this, I wonât be returning with my family. I felt I have gave enough benefit of the doubt and shown enough grace yet this experience is the same every time we attend no matter how long we leave it as we do love Costa hot chocolate drinks.
For the sake of future customers I think these two manners of staff need do undertake more staff training on customer services and understand the types of customers they are serving. I really hope this place can turn around this shared experience that I see a lot of...
Read moreThe manager and assistant manager of this branch are absolutely unhinged and the rudest staff I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. They seem to not understand the age old line that the âcustomer is always rightâ. They speak abruptly and rudely, will outright refuse customer requests, they boss you to move your chair/table around outside - while you are sitting! (if it is so much as an inch over the invisible barrier/border) and when I tidied my tray back to the counter to help, they barked at me to clear it away to near the back kitchen!! Genuinely baffled that this Costa branch has any custom, the management staff need overhauling or at the very least some proper training on customer service. Vile treatment of customers, the manager and assistant manager should be ashamed.
If you want a horrible, uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing Costa experience, knock yourself out. If you donât, I strongly recommend you go to literally any other cafe or different Costa branch and avoid this branch...
