Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Went in for a quick drink and a cake with my eleven year old daughter whilst waiting for a train. As an incredibly friendly and relaxed individual that very, very rarely complains- what was intended as a small treat for my little lady turned into an absolutely appauling scenario. Served by a lady with ginger hair, my daughter and I tried to make polite chit chat with the barista and she literally ignored every comment we made, looked absolutely put out that she had to make our drinks, couldn't smile at my daughter once and left her in almost tears throughout our stay. To make matters worse, we then had to endure a moaning marathon between herself and a colleague about absent colleagues for the next 40 minutes. Totally ruined my daughters shopping spree and was an unfortunate anti climax to what was a lovely day.

Called into Costa Flemingate today with a friend. Young girl was alone serving and making drinks whilst her colleague was busy cleaning tables. She was making our drinks one being an iced coffee when the old woman behind me began complaining loudly about the wait. I hadn’t been waiting long and so what. Like I pointed out she is on her own, is making our requested drinks and only has one pair of hands. So so rude. The girl looked so upset and embarrassed. She apologised for the wait and like i said you don’t need to apologise you did absolutely nothing wrong. I have to say that this is another example of how some of the older generation are extremely rude and impatient!! Absolutely uncalled for. My drink was absolutely lovely btw. Keep smiling. The best coffee shop in Beverley. I came here to retrieve my birthday treat this week, I left in a very happy mood and had my day made by the wonderful staff. The staff are always amazing and kind, the atmosphere is so calm and peaceful too at the shop.

I live over an hour away but whenever passing through if I need a coffee or come shopping I come here.

The manager is great, keep doing what you’re doing team Costa flemingate!! You’ve always been top notch customer service.
