The only thing which wasn't amazing about our meal here was that this excellent restaurant deserved to be busier. The food was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. My tastebuds were coming alive even as I ate the bruschetta which was tasty and perfectly crisp (not crunchy) on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff were very attentive and it was lovely to chat to the owner too. If you're looking for somewhere to eat, this is the place. Update. Went again. Same great food and service. And nothing to do with this restuarant, but made me smile. I began speed reading, and just last night I read “The Da Vinci Code” in fifteen minutes. I know it’s only 4 words, but it’s a start. How I Mark I may mark differently to some other reviewers, some might see this as harsh, others may see it as fair. But here's how I look at it: 5 star - WOW. I want to go back and look forward to doing so. They delivered everything expected and more. The 'more' is normally about the service or attitude of the staff. 4 star - GOOD. They delivered everything I wanted and a bit more. I recommend them and would go back. 3 star - OK. They delivered what I expected, I would go back if I needed to, although don't currently plan on doing so. 2 star - Not very good. I didn't get what I expected and the service wasn't good. I don't recommend this place. I might get dragged back here, although will always try to avoid it 1 star - This was rubbish. Don't go there, I certainly won't go there again. I didn't get what I wanted, the people were unhelpful and I didn't enjoy it in any way.

A sad case of terrible service letting down pretty good food. My partner and I ate here last night and we sat down at our table, the first thing we was told by the waitress was ‘When your ready to be served press the button’ not can I get you a drink or would you like some water for the table or anything? A few minutes later we ‘pressed the button’ and waited, several minutes later our waitress came over and asked if we was ready to order. We ordered a main each and a nice bottle of wine, the food was served and that was the last we heard from anyone for the next 45-60 minutes, we didn’t get asked if the food was ok or if we was happy or even if we would like to order anything else. We didn’t even get asked if we would like to try the wine or have the offer of if we would like the first glass poured for us? We made the decision to leave dessert due to the service and whilst our empty plates sat on the table I pressed the button that suggested I was ready to pay the bill. At nearly £90 for a bottle of wine and a main course each we felt that it was incredibly expensive for the money that we paid, this was purely let down by the complete lack of customer service provided by the staff.

I chose this restaurant because it seemed the most suitable for my food allergies – and I was right. The chef prepared a delicious meal that was completely safe for me. I ordered the Player Two Food but swapped the salmon and smoked fish for two extra pieces of cod, cooked in olive oil, as I’m allergic to sunflower and rapeseed oil. It was no problem at all for them to accommodate that. The dish was absolutely delicious, and the spicy tomato sauce (gluten- and dairy-free) was amazing. I enjoyed it so much that I finished everything myself, including the extra vegetables I ordered – and I felt great afterwards, no pain or discomfort at all. My husband ordered the lamb – he was very, very happy. It was delicious, tender, with a delicate aroma. A generous portion that just melted in the mouth. He also ordered a pizza, which was also very tasty. Overall, we highly recommend this place. You must try the Player Two Food – it’s amazing! And the lamb – absolutely top-notch! We definitely recommend and will be back for sure! Thank you for the delicious dinner ☺️

Shocked. Not in a good way.

Walked in on my own, was told the slow cooked Kleftico would take 10 minutes, server didn’t even offer an aperitif, had to ask. 5 minutes later a jug of water was ‘dumped’ on the table And a party of 8 was getting their drinks before me. At nearly £30 for the Kleftico and the starter which didn’t arrive in a timely manner, I had the general feeling that the evening would go further downhill, I cancelled my starter. The elder woman started saying they were busy, unless I am blind, there were about 10 people in there. I did explain that I am local, it’s the first time I had been there and would book for next week but initially not impressed. She said ‘fine, whatever’…like a bolshy teenager.

I am absolutely disgusted in fact.

I walked out.

To go further, they have lost a local customer for life. The Slug and lettuce this evening matched my needs at a third of the price, but more importantly I was shown courstesy, respect and great service......- at least it’s value for money and service and courtesy shown. And no need for...
