Underwhelming to be perfectly honest
We chose to have dinner here after a stroll in the beach because the reviews seemed promising. We had the tsatziki and hummus with pita for starters, and chicken gyros and moussaka for mains. Ordered cabernet sauvignon and cider for drinks.
The starters were okay. Tsatziki was particularly fresh and good. The hummus was grainy and lacking in flavour and creaminess. The pita that accompanied the starters was okay but tasted store-bought and freshly heated.
The chicken gyros was presented with the same pita, chicken shavings, salad, and chips. The chicken itself was okay. Salty but flavourful and not dry. The spicy tomato sauce was okay with it. The rest was average at most.
The moussaka tasted more like Shepherd’s Pie (potato overload) with 2 small slices of aubergine. It was served in an aluminium container, on a plate with chips and pita.
The worst part the dinner was perhaps the wine which we couldn’t even finish because to even call it wine would be a disservice to all other wines in the world. The cider was Rekorderlig Strawberry and Lime.
The serving staff, all of them, were at least kind and smiling all the time. They were approachable and helpful. They were the best part...
Read moreGenerally, the restaurant ie service, presentation, cleanliness ( restaurant floor, tables, and kitchen-I peeked over the counter) quality of food/ cooking/ standard) all was immaculate bordering on excellent. But the only gripe I have is that very little was authentic, underlined. Most amateurs can use an air-frier. AT least that's how most of the food tasted. Very little cooking-juices were evident, almost dry. Finally, the prices were a good average, food plentiful, there was no scrimping, and the staff/ waiters were very thorough and attentive. But again, John Constable-ish prints on the walls are not conducive to a Mediterranean atmosphere. UPDATED. HASTEN TO ADD (BECAUSE OF THE OWNERS REACTION IN RESPONSE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW) " SINCERITY BEGETS SINCERITY" , AS I HAVE A BACKGROUND IN CATERING AND HOSPITALITY, MY INTENTION WAS TOTALLY IN EVERYBODY'S INTEREST. SO THEREFORE, I LOOK FORWARD TO EXPERIENCING THE RESTAURANTS WARES IN THE NEAR FUTURE,...
Read moreWe had a lovely time at Eat Together.
The menu is simple, with less variety than I expected for a Greek restaurant, having said that, the food was well cooked, well presented, a good variety of meat and meat free choices, and tasted delicious.
The atmosphere was cosy, the dining area was full when we visited but we did not feel crowded and it was nicely ventilated.
I would like to say a big thanks to the front-of-house staff, they were attentive without being bothersome, friendly and bubbly; even though it was the end of the night.
The pricing is very competitive, the team manage to achieve takeaway prices in a restaurant setting, no mean feat with today's running costs.
I will certainly visit again and recommend anyone that likes fresh cooked Greek food to give Eat...
