Five Bites Hornsea — Restaurant in England

Hello all, I would like to start my review by saying, this takeaway in the past few years was good for Hornsea standards. But unfortunately over time, the quality has degraded, a bit like a food variant of Andy Carroll's footballing ability. I made an order around 10:40AM as part of a work group, this order consisted of 4 mains, we arranged for it to be delivered around 12:25, we were then rang to be informed that the order would be 60 minutes late. After 60 minutes had passed, we rang the restaurant and we were told that the delivery driver had just left the building, now being 13:50PM. Another 60 minutes pass, and there is no sign of our food. We ring the restaurant again to ask for a refund on the order, and to cancel. We are told that the delivery driver has found her self down a dirt track trying to come to us, the time now 14:50PM. It arrived 10 minutes later, cold and our complimentary Garlic Bread is now a solid frisbee. Must say I am not amused and shall not be offering them my custom again. My colleague rang later to complain and was offered 1 free item. Not pleased. We should all be supporting local business' at this time, but I find it very difficult with this one. Do not recommend staff attitude is worst I have come across in a long time. Rest of the reviews also seem consistent with this Had a stay at Dacre lakeside lodges where we found menus for this take away in reception We called up and asked if it is possible to deliver to the lodges and they told us not a problem. They took our postcode and lodge number and a £36 order. 40 mins later we got a call from a young lad telling us our order was at reception we advised him we had a drink and couldn’t get to reception and asked could he bring our food to our lodge as advised on the phone. He told us he was not insured to do this 🤣 and said he would take out food back and put the phone down. After another 40 mins I we got another call from the rudest woman I’ve ever had the displeasure of talking to who saying she would at first resend the order, but we told her we ordered from elsewhere and her attitude flipped shouting down the phone that it’s our fault for being rude and swearing at the deliver driver and to take our business elsewhere. We already had and had a lovely meal from a local take away where the delivery driver was pleasant and had no issue with his insurance to drive down a...

Absolutely fantastic food! The staff are always friendly and the delivery times are superb! By far the best place I've ordered from in years. I hadn't eaten takeout for months before I discovered Five Bites but now I've already gone and ordered 3 nights in a row!

Edit: Back again to update my review. I'd give it 6 stars if I could! Easily one of the best takeaways I've ever been to. Not only do they offer a huge variety of food, from fried chicken and chips but also calzones and pizzas, wraps, other kinds of chicken! I wouldn't quite say they're a jack of all trades though as that'd be imprecise. They deliver with haste a huge variety of food that in my opinion is of a very high standard of quality so more like the ace of all trades in my book! The delivery people in my experience have also been very well mannered and friendly; they're real social people.
