My nachos were standard, slightly soggy and the cheese was not melted. Unfortunately, the food itself ended up the least of my concerns with this visit.
I too was in the group affected by smelly wet dog food ruining our experience here. My companions have already left reviews. I was not originally going to add a comment to my rating. However, seeing the replies and false claims by the owner regarding the occasion, I would like to clarify a few points to anyone who might be reading these.
To start with, I understand that this is a dog-friendly establishment. However, despite what the owner claims in response to another review, they made no effort to prevent the dog food being served or eaten, and it was pretty obviously occurring for some time before we complained. The owners did not apologise to us for our discomfort, and did not tell the dog owners that they should take their dog food outside. If we had not already paid for our food when we ordered, we would have left and gone elsewhere. The dog food smell was rancid and the air left a lingering vile taste in my mouth, which the nachos did not dispel.
The smell of cow manure when we left with our takeaway boxes had nothing to do with this issue. It was a very obvious different scent from the dog food. Any claims to the contrary by the owner are false. We know what we smelled. It was the putrid wet dog food right next to us. This had also attracted flies indoors and to our table.
We were angry, but never rude. There is a difference between being rude and being critical. The atmosphere was only more unpleasant due to the blatant disregard of our complaint and the obvious defence of the people feeding their dogs indoors.
Finally, a reply was made to the original reviewer that there was ‘No need for the whole group to individually review.’ This is also dismissive of the issues raised and there is absolutely no reason why we cannot all leave our own personal reviews.
The only apology we have received is regret that we will not be returning. This is accurate, at least. I would much rather support better establishments...
