I've been here three times now, the last with a group. They opened the end of last year and appear to be taking off! I wish them all the best. Accessibility - level entrance, manual door. Disabled loo manual door into a corridor and in through another, no ermergency pull cord. The loos are inherited from the previous business.and I've mentioned this to the new owner. Car Park - limited (1 hour) on road, or 3 hours in the Cinema St Car Park (includes parking for disabled) in nearby Pay and Display. Bar - a range of alchoholic, soft and hot drinks. Tap water - a large glass provided. Food - for carnivores, veggies, vegans and little ones. The gravy us vegan and tasted really nice. Small plates of different foods available as well as the pies. The Mothership is choice of pie, mash, gravy, choice of peas, cheese and crispy onions. I was not so keen on the cheese and so asked for and got extra crispy onions Live Music - I noticed a poster for an upcoming live act. Staff - brilliant, could not be more helpful. Toilets - include disabled, see accessibility.

There are lots of cafes in Hornsea but this is definitely the best one that we’ve tried. It’s obviously very popular with locals and visitors as it was pretty busy on what was a quite dull day. The coffee was good and my gluten free chocolate cake was delicious: light, moist and so chocolatey! My husband’s toasted teacake looked so tasty! There’s seating outside but we opted to sit inside near the bar which gave us a great view of the huge cocktail menu. Thank you very much to the lovely staff who looked after my backpack-it was an hour before I realised that it wasn’t on my back 🤷‍♀️😹 I am often a solo traveller and would feel very comfortable to visit the Green Owl again. Highly recommended!

The most flavoursome breakfast I've had since- I can't remember! Absolutely beautiful. Never fancy a coked breakfast but smelled divine. Gorgeous mushrooms of all things! Gorgeous coffee! They catered to my daughters needs efficiently even when I forgot to order her food and she was sat waiting for mine 🤦‍♀️🤣 best milkshake ever she said! She tried something new - French toast - very filling - had half and EVEN tried the salad - she knew it looked that good! I ate the rest - second breakfast- who cates? Gorgeous! Great service and really warm and cosey! Not bad for a impulse brekky while driving by! Very clean toilets and accessible too! Thank you

My nachos were standard, slightly soggy and the cheese was not melted. Unfortunately, the food itself ended up the least of my concerns with this visit.

I too was in the group affected by smelly wet dog food ruining our experience here. My companions have already left reviews. I was not originally going to add a comment to my rating. However, seeing the replies and false claims by the owner regarding the occasion, I would like to clarify a few points to anyone who might be reading these.

To start with, I understand that this is a dog-friendly establishment. However, despite what the owner claims in response to another review, they made no effort to prevent the dog food being served or eaten, and it was pretty obviously occurring for some time before we complained. The owners did not apologise to us for our discomfort, and did not tell the dog owners that they should take their dog food outside. If we had not already paid for our food when we ordered, we would have left and gone elsewhere. The dog food smell was rancid and the air left a lingering vile taste in my mouth, which the nachos did not dispel.

The smell of cow manure when we left with our takeaway boxes had nothing to do with this issue. It was a very obvious different scent from the dog food. Any claims to the contrary by the owner are false. We know what we smelled. It was the putrid wet dog food right next to us. This had also attracted flies indoors and to our table.

We were angry, but never rude. There is a difference between being rude and being critical. The atmosphere was only more unpleasant due to the blatant disregard of our complaint and the obvious defence of the people feeding their dogs indoors.

Finally, a reply was made to the original reviewer that there was ‘No need for the whole group to individually review.’ This is also dismissive of the issues raised and there is absolutely no reason why we cannot all leave our own personal reviews.

The only apology we have received is regret that we will not be returning. This is accurate, at least. I would much rather support better establishments...

relaxed and informal casual yet smart On trend modern British eatery ,with Mediterranean influenced pizza menu and vegan options on a host of tasty meals, plus fully loaded bar with quality top branded beers wines and spirits , plus a range of non mainstream artisan style beers at reasonable prices . The staff are most polite and friendly and are quick to respond to your order , the food here is not fast food especially the pizza's which are hand prepared to a very good standard and can be made to your own requirements ,should you require any further toppings at around the fifty pence mark for each additional topping plus the cost of your pizza there is also a vegan cheese option on the pizzas. Drinks are at reasonable prices and served at time of review by waiter and waitress service only, to comply with covid regulations at no extra cost which works very well as there's no waiting around at the bar area as there are plenty of staff at hand . The atmosphere is spacious modern , with retro Danish teak style furniture which has been coupled with some vintage industrial inspired seating and some deco and kitsch inspired lighting fixtures . The average cost of a pizza starts at the £6.50 mark upwards for a 9 inch serving, which I thought were very filling for one person , fries and potato options are available at reasonable cost for the more hungry diner to add on to your meal , plus they have a variety of pies meat and vegan And of a very good quality which are quite hearty and should satisfy the most hungry of diner's. They also have an outside seating area for drinks and snacks weather permitting . WC facilities were clean and easily accessible for the less mobile all on one level . A must place visit in hornsea for food and drinks with a...
