Went in recently for the first time to check it out. After ordering the first meal the girl asked if I wanted fries with this and I said yes, she then went onto list the fries they have but left out they serve house fries with the meal which are included. Very sly in business terms as they would then charge extra on top of the meal price different fries other than house fries. Then after refusing the other fries I got asked what drink do you want, I asked for a pepsi and was told that due to sugar tax it was 40p extra for this ( this is illegal), they are not allowed to charge a customer sugar tax, you can add it into the price of the drink and charge for the can but the wording sugar tax is not allowed. (See sugar tax cost on the Internet) Anyway, after ordering 5 meals the food was ready to collect after 10 or so mins. Everything was there plus sauces and wet wipes too. Being a qualified chef in both Asian and English cuisine and set up and worked in takeaways and restaurants over 30 years I would say the food was average. The buns were falling apart. The chicken fillet was like rubber. The Angus beef patty was very small and with no seasoning. The chicken strip was thick and Luke warm (disgusting). The table was dirty but got moved to a nicer table by the waitress. The place is ok and spacious. Would I go there again. No. I rung back and asked to speak to the manager or the owner of the franchise and got passed from pillar to post. First I was told the owner of the franchise was not there and was in the Yorkshire branch and then rang there and was told he was working in Blackburn all day. So I rang back and he was there in Blackburn because when I went to see the manager Yusuf I could see the franchise owner in the back, lying on purpose? Who knows. Trust has gone out the window with these guys. Would I revisit? Definitely not. My ratings Food- 4 Service- 2 Cost-...
Read moreJust not the same as it used to be. Been here a handful of times before and really liked the food and environment. But after the most recent visit, it seems as though the business has got complacent and they're running the reputation into the ground themselves.
Food arrived, fries were cold in one of the meals...asked to reheat...took almost 10 minutes. Another meal...was literally missing the beef patty and just had onions in it (see picture). Mentioned it to the staff behind the counter, who took it to the kitchen staff and they all had a laugh and joke about it amongst themselves. Took another 10 minutes to get a replacement meal. Whilst we ate...there was a sudden onslaught of loud swearing and conflict from the counter...the staff had a fight amongst themselves and one staff member was taken out to cool down. This happened whilst dining customers watched on. There was no explanation or apology to the customers from management, in fact...there was no management by the look of things.
All in all, a terrible experience but the burger was tasty. The simple reason for all the errors is "lack of management". The owner/manager should be present, especially at a busy time like Friday evening, to ensure their business is running smoothly. The staff are young, hapless and need constant overlooking to ensure quality is maintained. The standards are dropping and it's the owners fault. Will have to find an alternative...
Read moreAfter all the hype from a friend of mine, I decided to visit this establishment. I told him that I have been to some exceptional places in London but he kept on saying I had to try this out.
Ordering started of well as prices in the menu and on the wall were ‘incorrect’. Apparently there were still some ‘rogue’ menus around with the old prices and they haven’t got round to updating the main menu on the wall behind the tills....I begrudgingly paid £3.99 not the advertised £2.99 for the popcorn chicken along with the Daddy meal. Waited a while for the food which is fine as this place was busy and i don’t mind waiting for good tasting food. But what arrived.....all I can say is that these guys can’t do fried chicken!!!! The fried chicken fillet in the burger and the popcorn chicken can be beaten hands down by the Dixy in Brierfield. The coating doesn’t hold onto to chicken like it does in seasoned establishments and we all know that our beloved fried chicken has oil but what was presented to me looked like an Alaskan oil spill. The beef burger was par but the whole experience left me with a sour taste as I wasted my precious cheat meal for this abomination from Frankie’s. I wish I had a DeLorean and could go back in time and have avoided this experience but in the absence of this I think I need to force myself to be sick to get the food out...
