Went for dinner last night 05/07/2024 to "Goodfellows at 7B". We'd previously been more than 2 years ago to its previous premises in the town centre. It's now the other side of the cathedral up the road from The Fountain Inn in St Thomas Street. Despite being a Friday it wasn't full by a long chalk but this venue's quite abit larger than before. The food remains excellent and the service is good but we did think, once we'd ordered, all the courses came too quickly and we weren't allowed to relax, enjoy the wine and chat. It all felt alittle rushed. The kitchen's open to the ground floor dining room - we've seen this before at other restaurants and sometimes it works but unsure if this was the case here. We appreciate why because the patron/chef Adam Fellows holds cooking demos and it's a nice place to do so. But it didn't add to the ambience or the intimacy of the place which we appreciated at its old venue. One big plus is no loud intrusive music!

Wonderful small restaurant with an open kitchen so you can see the chefs doing their magic on the delight you are going to get to eat! The dishes are delightful, tasty and interesting. We were in a hurry as we had a concert to attend but we still managed to get two courses in and it convinced us we'll be back soon for a more leisurely meal.

We were recommended to this restaurant by The Beryl Hotel for our wedding anniversary dinner, we hoped it would be special, it was amazing. A cozy and intimate setting, very personal and attentive service and food that was truly out of this world. Thank you all so very much! X

A very intimate restaurant just a few steps away from the cathedral. The kitchen is visible from the restaurant itself, which makes for interesting viewing as the meal progresses. The front of house team are very knowledgeable about the food and wine and happy to recommend. We opted for the fish options and were not disappointed with one bite. Excellent flavours and ingredients, presented with flair but not pretentious. The selection of desserts were also different and we ended our meal with a recommended dessert wine. This was our first visit to this special restaurant but it was obvious that many of the other diners were local, which is a great testament in itself. We will certainly be returning as...

Quite exceptional food As my history shows, I am a committed foodie and this was a quite superb experience. All courses were stunningly presented and of superb flavours too. You are able to watch staff in the kitchen and chef is very calm and organised. I am a huge fan of fine dining from cafes to 3* michelin venues and this was quite...
