LOL omg the service was absolutely appalling. It should have been a red flag when the woman with dark hair answered the phone when we booked a table (we found it was her because she apologised when we arrived) . The blond woman was equally miserable and just as unprofessional and welcoming as her team mate. They stood around gossiping so had to leave the table to order drinks . I had to interrupt her conversation with somone she was stood near the door talking to unfortunately the conversation she was having must have been very important because she didn’t turn around or acknowledge me. The blonde woman was stood near them so i asked her if we could order some drinks and place our order for food. What an inconvenience this was to them how dare we want drinks and food.
We placed our order and the staff must have been very tired from all that talking because they took a seat next to a customer ( who they obviously knew) and again started to chat again .
We tried to get their attention to order more drinks but again this conversation must have been absolutely intriguing because they didn’t notice us , hear us asking or signaling for more drinks. So unfortunately yet again i had to interrupt their conversation to order more drinks (I know how dare I, totally rude of me ) .
We were brought our drinks and it wasn’t slammed down but it was put down on the table like a ‘there you go’ and a look that matched. Even when we said thank you we were looked at like we were a total inconvenience. Never mind . The food arrived and the food was lovely . Chicken botie, pizza, corn on the cob. Can’t fault it . We could see the kitchen from where we wear seated and those fellas didn’t stop working. The kitchen is immaculate and the chefs are constantly busy. They are fantastic and work very hard and put out some great food. The WHOLE attitude and delivery from the waitress is absolutely pathetic. They both have ZERO customer service skills or people skills in general. It’s like the BOTH HATED TO BE THERE. It really made us feel uncomfortable and like we were a nuisance to be getting food and drinks. From the two waitresses who were on tonight we personally wouldn’t go back into the place to eat. Delivery yes , because the food is lovely. But to sit in absolutely not. Me and my husband came in this afternoon for food while we didn’t have our toddler (we don’t get to eat out much just the two of us alone) and it was an ackward situation because of the waitresses. No words can describe how unpleasant and unprofessional they were. Faces like a slapped backside and an attitude to match. We didn’t finish all our food (in fact only one slice of pizzas ) and we took the rest home because we felt like asking for more drinks would be an inconvenience. Plus by this time we were both feeling uncomfortable and wanting to leave. Asked for the bill came to £38 pounds . Absolutely did not tip the waitresses but went to the kitchen front and told the chef’s the food was lovely and tipped each guy £5 each. Unfortunately they handed it over to the waitresses (I suppose the tips get shared ) had I known this I wouldn’t have tipped at all. Those waitresses didn’t deserve a tip, the only thing they deserve is a customer service course, personally transplant or a p45. They were THAT bad. As a waitress myself I was absolutely shocked, appalled and totally disappointed. Bad waitress CAN and DO loose restaurants customers and business and unfortunately that’s what’s happened this afternoon. But I have a feeling that these two waitresses will take zero responsibility and make excuse up if the boss was to mention their attitude , work ethic and pure laziness to them. Never mind . We won’t be returning but would defo order a delivery. I wouldn’t even order a take out from here because of the attitude from these two. Harsh but very honest and truthful review . You can look at all my reviews that I post and I hate putting a negative review on (think this is my second negative review) but these girls absolutely deserve the review we have given. Well...
Read moreWhat's an absolute waste of £16. The place was empty when we arrived, only 2 tables in........ despite that... she decides to sit me and my 10 years old daughter in the middle of the floor area next to the door absolutely freezing cold.... I mean freezing cold. When I ask to be moved she did say if it was for the draft??? Obviously it's a common problem....... The business is been design with two doors. The porch!!! Is designed to keep the cold in (contain) before you are open the second door. obviously if the first door is (always ) open the porch is useless... Eventually we sad at another table obviously wasn't a problem plenty table available. I ordered chicken kebabs. With plain mayonnaise. Never arrived...... And naan bread.... Never arrived until I stop a absolutely idiot and I asked him where is my daughter's naan. he came back with it and he threw it on the table even my daughter said to me how rude was that. Then I waited 15minutes after my daughter's meal then it came with a chicken wrap instead of lam rap. And I ask for thr lamb with only salad and it also came wrong.also when the girl insisted that I said chicken but I didn't because I don't don't eat chicken.and I also asked the waiter for something nice before my meal and she suggested the red pepper dip and it was a waste of money this cost me 4 pound for a dip . This dip was bland just plain red pepper blended with raw tomato FOR 4 POUND !!! My daughter also left her chicken after all they still charged me for this meal that my daughter didn't enjoy. mamma Italia is right next door and they serve better quality food cheaper friendly staff. Highly recommend mamma Italia.( Also the tapas is...
Read moreAbsolutely brilliant experience at Grill ‘N’ Chill in Seaham. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, with friendly staff who made us feel at home right away. The place has had a stylish upgrade—modern decor, comfortable booths with built-in phone chargers, and a new bar area that gives it a real restaurant feel.
The food was the real star of the show. I ordered the pepperoni and chilli parmo and honestly, it’s one of the best I’ve ever tasted—crispy on the outside, tender inside, with just the right amount of heat. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, full of flavour, and the cheesy chips with halloumi were a proper comfort food treat. Everything arrived fresh, hot, and well-presented.
Portion sizes are generous, prices are very reasonable, and the service was spot-on throughout—friendly, quick, and always happy to recommend something if you’re unsure.
It’s also great that they offer both dine-in and takeaway options, and the free parking just outside is a bonus, especially being so close to the seafront.
Highly recommended if you’re in the Seaham area—whether it’s for a casual night out, a family meal, or just great food...
