Rude and Angry managers.

Accused my boyfriend and I of taking cocaine because he held the toilet door for me as I have claustrophobia. The angry man who is supposedly the manager shouted continuously at me (I am 19). Phrases included ‘I know what you’re doing’ and ‘I don’t care’ and ‘I’m the manager’. We never shouted back and he didn’t care that he was still shouting at me whilst I was crying. He also unlocked the toilet door whilst my boyfriend was in the toilet. He even threatened to bar us. I asked to be searched and no one searched me, only my boyfriend who was searched outside of the premises on the street pavement. That is not within their powers to do such outside of the venue.

The woman manager continued to justify her husbands actions with an a patronising rant about licensing, whilst having to prevent her husband from continuing shouting at me and my parents who had now come over.

I told them how me and my boyfriend were probably one of the few people that have never done drugs in their establishment. Meanwhile a usual weekend at the herd includes people, including the managements friends, taking all sorts of pills and cocaine.

Anytime anyone I associated with went to the toilet they were immediately followed after to check for evidence of my supposed drug use. Ask someone to leave, don’t create a horrifically uncomfortable environment for everyone else.

I really don’t think managers who were drinking all night are capable of dealing with situations fairly. I do not think I would have been shouted at or spoken to this way if I was older or a man. And have never been spoken to like this anywhere.

I definitely wouldn’t go here if you’re lgbtq+ either as they care too much about what toilet you use.

Go to the Bear for a much friendlier atmosphere.

And no I did not go in the women’s toilets again and had to get people to hold the disabled toilet door.

My boyfriend was never told he could wait outside the man offered rudely but turned around and was talking to someone else so could not have seen what...

We had our EasyFrame Xmas party here. There were 17 of us and I honestly could not fault the food or the service. The feedback from everyone has been nothing but compliments. Starters of Prawn cocktail and pate were really good. The mains of Christmas dinner and the Festive burger 🍔 really got the taste buds going. The side dishes of parsnips, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and yorkies just kept coming. You certainly could never leave here hungry. I personally opted for 2 courses as I knew I’d be full. The people who had the desserts loved them. The drinks didn’t stop flowing and I’ve had messages saying I’ll never have another Zombie. Great night and a great venue. Unfortunately our experience was a let down. We were so looking forward to our Sunday here but was left unimpressed and would not return. The food itself was beautiful and could not be faulted. However, upon arrival we had to awkwardly stand and wait to be greeted and had to wait 10 minutes for our table, as it was still being used (even though we booked 2 weeks in advance!!!) Once seated our order was taken quite quickly, however we had to wait well over AN HOUR for our food. No one advised us before ordering there was a longer wait on food and we were offered no complimentary drinks or ANYTHING to compensate this. Everyone else's food seemed to come out quickly and we were just flippantly told "sorry, it's busy today". Had to call someone over to order more drinks. Had to call someone over to ask for more roast potatoes and Yorkshires - which were apparently 'bottomless' as stated on menu however looked offended when we asked for more. Had no check back on food. Had to ask for the bill. When we did receive the bill it was wrong and again had to ASK for this to be corrected. The service was honestly so bad and it's a shame because the food is so nice. On a side note, the glasses were filthy with lipstick marks all round the rims and some of the cutlery was dirty too.
