Well… how lucky were we! Happened to walk past this cosy little seafood spot, nestled in the most quaint and charming street in Falmouth. I swear that place winked at me, beckoned seductively and in the next moment, I was on the phone begging them to squeeze us in!
We were really lucky, we were offered a late table (they were so busy) we snapped it up.
The menu was chalked up on the blackboard, so many incredible options, we really were spoilt for choice. We had the brown crab rarebit as a starter followed by the most sensational scallops Mornay and then fabulously fresh plaice on the bone with fine capers and brown butter and parsley - lots of luscious herby butter to toss our new potatoes in... heaven! Absolutely loved the fresh and frivolous fennel and orange salad.
Talking of fresh and frivolous... Our gorgeous server was really wonderful! So attentive our glasses were never empty. He charmed the pants off of us and made us feel so welcome. The vibe is friendly and relaxed with the majority of customers locals and returning guests... I can see why. If only this was on my street corner!
Feel compelled to leave a review as these restaurants are such gems. This is a labour of love and we so appreciated this absolute treasure. Such amazing value.. We dined at a certain well known establishment in Padstow (also fish)the night before... Twice the price and half as good as Hevva. Hevva...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I went for some food and wine on Valentine's Day. We shared the scallops mornay, mackeral pâté on toast, brown crab rarebit, sole veronique and fries with a refreshing bottle of riesling which came to £73.
The staff are amazing and you can tell it is owner operated, service was outstanding and friendly; tap water is automatically provided. Incredible value especially the local nature, it is always worth paying a pound or two more for local business. The atmosphere was great: the music was good, the lighting was near perfect but a little bright for my preference for the evening and it wasn't too loud at all. The glassware was all polished and the cutlery and crockery is really good quality. The food itself was outstanding and no complaints at all. Weirdly enough, probably the nicest toilet in Falmouth...
(I would recomend getting an instagram geotag sorted to increase awareness)
We will...
